INTERSTATE WASTE SVC

On Friday, May 25, 2012 around 6:00pm, Daniel from IWS was walking around my neighborhood signing up residents for new garbage pick up service. I met with him and liked the price, so I signed up. He told me I had 3 days to change my mind and cancel if I chose to. After thinking it over, the next day I contacted the waste service company I was currently with and they offered a better price than IWS. So, I called IWS and left a voicemail telling them I wanted to cancel the agreement and to shred my check. It was Memorial Day, May 28th. The next day (May 29th) I called back to verify that they received the voicemail and spoke with a woman who said they didn't. I explained everything again and that I wanted my check shredded. The woman I spoke with said that she would note that I wanted to cancel, took my contact info and said that she would have someone call me back. They didn't. On May 29th I called back and spoke to someone again that said there was no indication that I had called the day before. I went over everything AGAIN and was told that Stacey(?) was the one in charge of new accounts and that she had a pile of new service agreements on her desk from the weekend. The woman took my name and address and told me that she would let Stacey know that I had called twice already to cancel. I again asked that my check be shredded. So fast forward to June 24th. I was checking my bank account online and lo and behold, there was a check debit for $66 from IWS!! Unfortunately, it was a Sunday when I discovered this and had to wait to call. So on Monday, June 25th I call IWS and I'm told that there is nothing about wanting to cancel service! Of course there isn't. I was furious!! So now I'm waiting for a call back from Rhonda. Let's see how long that takes! In the meantime, I will call back everyday until I get my money refunded.
