A & B Snow Removal

We found this company through the classifieds and gave them a call to remove the snow from our driveway. We are in our late sixties, my husband has a bad hip, and it was approximately 8" of snow that had fallen and we couldn't manage the job. He came over and gave us an estimate of $40 to plow the snow from our small driveway and turnaround and remove the snow from our sidewalks, plus put salt down. We felt like this was an excellent price so we hired him. They showed up about 1 a.m., plowed the driveway and sidewalks, which took about 15 minutes. The next day we realized the turnaround hadn't been done and it didn't look like any salt had been put on the driveway so when we talked with him we advised him of this and they came out and plowed the turnaround. That was fine and we felt like that was good customer service. The next time it snowed, only a few days later, he called us and we were going to hire him again, in spite of the fact that they didn't get it right the first time, but he told us that this time the job was going to cost us $70. The snow wasn't any deeper and the job would have been the same as before, so we felt like he was gouging us. He knew we were older and my husband has a bad hip and can't do the job so we felt like he thought he had us over a barrel and was trying to get as much money out of us that he could. I don't like people that sucker us in with a fair price and then almost double it a couple of days later for the exact same job that he had done previously. There is a serious trust issue here and I would not use them again, for anything. We really needed the work done but we weren't desperate enough to be taken advantage of in that way. I just feel like it's a slick business tactic that didn't happen to work for them this time. We were angry and extremely disappointed.
