"This review is 100% false. I am [Member Name Removed]and I am the owner of the business. I personally dealt with this customer/member. To start, I gave him an estimate and measured for carpet. He told me that he wanted the whole house done for under $2,700. This price needed to include a 1st floor living room and hallway, Flight of steps, 3 bedrooms, closets, and upstairs hallway. This price also had to include along with carpet: 8lb residential grade carpet padding, tearing out old materials, moving furniture, disposal of old carpet and padding, stair installation, etc. This customer asked me roughly what was the padding he currently had down and I said it is very hard to tell since the padding has been down for a while. I could not know until I actually tore up the carpet to find out. We use a quality grade of 8lb padding with was so much better than he had down currently. I have never switched carpet on anyone. I order actually what the customer picks. This review also stated that the customer confronted me about the carpet and padding. This is 100% not true. This customer got what they picked out and I am happy that we were even able to find him any carpet that fit his narrow budget for all of these that was needed. I could tell that this customer wished he had spent a little more to get better carpet for more anticipated results. At no time was he been taken advantage of because we went out of our way to get him this carpet and padding at the price point. This individual knew actually what he purchased at the time of the sale. -Best wishes -Mike (owner)"
"I am Mike Althoff and the owner of Floor-it Flooring. I see that there are 3 b's from this customer regarding this wrinkling issue. We give an industry setting one-year installation warranty on all of our installations. Carpet can wrinkle for many reasons. One reason such as in this case, moving and siding of heavy furniture has a big impact on your carpet stretch. We did use the existing tackstrip but we inspected them and they were great. I believe temperature/humidity along with pushing heavy furniture over the carpet (rather than lifting and placing furniture) is what caused these buckles. We insure our work for one year from carpet wrinkling. If a carpet is going to wrinkle, it normally happens within the first year or four seasons. We install our carpets professionally and if they buckle or wrinkle it is usually due to a factor in the house itself or people pushing furniture from room to room. We can not keep coming out to this individuals house to repair the wrinkles when they are being caused by the customer directly. We do not warranty against customers self abusing their carpets. I always tell each of our customers that if possible to lift their furniture rather than sliding it. I have re-stretch this carpet in her living room once already free of charge even though it was after the warranty period. Best Wishes -Mike"
"Mr. [Member Name Removed], Thank you for your review and I wanted to thank you for all of your kind words. It has been a pleasure getting to know you and your wife [Removed Member Name] over these last few years. Your son [Removed Member Name] called me yesterday and informed me that he is ready to start on new carpet for his house. I will be applying a 10% discount to his total as well since you referred him to us. He picked the same carpet that you have in your upstairs, so he will be very happy how it transforms his basement into an additional living space. Thanks again for your business -Michael Althoff (owner) Floor-it Flooring (717) 979-4064"

Cons
-We have been unhappy with the seams since the install. We contacted the owner who did quickly send us a tool that you can use to cosmetically hide the seams at no cost to us which was nice; however, some of the seams were ultimately just done poorly or at least what I'm assuming is poor (For example, one side of the seam will overlap, there will be a gap in the middle and all the way to the other side of the wall--or just a gap along the entire seam--etc.) We contacted the owner--again, very responsive--but I did feel as though he tried to wordsmith me on why the seams were like this (contracting, carpet has to settle for a year, the carpet manufacturer dictates how the seams are laid, etc). To the point that I stopped him and said that I didn't have an issue with all of the seams or the location of the seams, I only had an issue with the ones that were always visible or can be felt underfoot due to an overlap or a gap. I'd say about half of the seams in our house were laid like this. The remainder are invisible to my eye which is lovely. I offered to send a picture and he offered to come out if he felt it necessary. We ultimately didn't send a picture because we couldn't get one clear enough to view via text or email, though I'm sure he probably would've come out to see it in person if we had followed up again (see below as to why we didn't).
-When we were discussing the install I asked if he could replace our gold metal brackets that hold down our carpet against other flooring like our vinyl and hardwood. He said that that was typically done when the other types of flooring are replaced. Obviously we trusted that; however, we have since had our other types of flooring replaced and during the quote process, I mentioned this to all three companies bidding on the work and they said this was inaccurate. That it was ultimately just easier on the carpet installer to not change them out. Again, I'm not a carpet installer or a flooring installer at all, but this was my experience and feedback on it when discussing with other flooring professionals. In light of this information, we didn't feel comfortable requesting him to come back out to look at the seams because I didn't necessarily trust that our best interest would be kept in mind.
-A few of our walls/trim/front door/front doorknob were banged up during the carpeting process. Nothing major in terms of wood or drywall damage, just some painting work. The front doorknob however was permanently dented/scratched into the metal.
