Had my home energy performed by Energy Auditors. Base price was $450 with PPL paying $250 which brought my total to $200 (I have electric everything so that factors into how much PPL gives). Kevin and Stan arrived promptly at the time stated during our call. They were friendly, courteous and very thorough. They took their time looking at every nook and cranny, taking pictures, notes, etc. After they were done ~3 hours, Kevin and Stan then sat down with me and went over their findings, answering any and all questions I had with great detail and patience. They walked me through the house as they went explaining their findings. A report will be emailed out to me detailing everything that was discussed. Highly recommend Energy Auditors! Excellent and I could not be happier with the service provided.

Stan Kuhn arrived promptly and gave us a thorough energy audit of our home.  He was very professional in performing the technical aspects of the audit, very helpful in interpreting the results to us, and very patient in answering our questions.  He emphasized some safety concerns, suggested solutions for areas needing to be addressed, and provided coaching for actions within our range of expertise.  Unlike some auditors we researched prior to engaging Stan, he was willing to do a water pressure check for us, which resulted in our learning we needed a pressure reducer and expansion tank.  Stan was also open and responsive to our emailing him with a couple follow-up questions, as we processed options for what needed to be done.  We had, in part, engaged Stan because he operates as an auditor, only, so we knew his audit would not be tied to any attempt to sell services.  We were glad we had made this choice, because we truly felt Stan was working for us and our best interests.  His actions certainly carry out his words, that he likes helping people. His fee of $600 was reduced by a $250 rebate from PPL, which he helped us submit.  As part of that program, he also provided some energy saving devices.   We would hire Stan Kuhn of Energy Auditors again, and have recommended him to friends.

As we went through the house and witnessed areas of leakage, Dave and Stan photographed what they saw, discussed possible causes, and suggested remedies. This was exactly what I hoped for. I did not want a firm that was also in the business of correcting problems since this might create a conflict of interest. Energy Auditors only does energy audits. These guys are real pros. They did not hesitate to look into tight crawlspaces or gain access to problem areas to pinpoint the cause whenever possible. After touring the house with the exhaust fan running, we sat down and reviewed the results. They provided some printed information illustrating ways to correct the problems we found. The total charge for this service is $600, but our electrical provider, PPL, offers a $250 rebate. Stan filled out the rebate paperwork so that they would get the rebate directly, thereby only charging me the difference of $350. Stan had taken a lot of notes which will be incorporated into a written report to be sent by e-mail. If you want a solid appraisal of your energy situation, these are the guys to do it.

Stan Kuhn of Energy Auditors performed a home energy audit, as described on the company's website. The purpose of the audit was to identify inefficiencies in our energy usage. During his investigation, he identified and took pictures of places in the attic where air was leaking into the house including holes for wires, bath fans, electric boxes, light fixtures, a large opening next to the center chimney, and the pull-down stairs. He also identified areas of leakage in the basement between the basement and the garage through floor joists, as well as the basement and the outside through the rim joists. He also discovered areas of leakage at the second floor rim joists. He reviewed all of our heating and cooling systems, as well as all of our appliances.
Stan’s report prioritized the improvements we can make. We found the report to be very helpful as we discussed phase one of our home energy improvement project with a contractor who specializes in this kind of work.
During the course of the audit and subsequent report, Stan made himself available for questions about his findings and his recommendations. Now that we have completed our first phase of improvements, I plan to discuss the results with Stan to confirm our next steps.

Response from ENERGY AUDITOrS

Affirmed concern about signs of moisture. Encouraged addressing multiple issues regarding landscaping, chimney and home construction that contribute to moisture problems inside the house.

"Thank you Member! It was a pleasure working with you. The categories aren't exactly accurate for the work that we perform; we are energy auditors and raters, and part of the assessment process is to look for water intrusion and its causes."

Stan Kuhn, the company owner, and another inspector were on-site. They were here for almost 4 hours. They were not intrusive and there was no evidence that they were in my attic or house - in other words, there was no mess! They sat down and thoroughly discussed their findings. I found both men to be very professional and competent. I am able to contact Stan with questions and he has been very prompt in responding to my emails and has been very helpful.
Response from ENERGY AUDITOrS
"Thank you for the very nice report Member! It was a pleasure working with you. We hope that you were able to get the issues that we identified corrected effectively."
