Demarco Landscaping

The owner is John Demarco and he actually lied to me. We caught him in a lie and I wouldn't do anything with him ever again. He is completely dishonest. There wasn't enough sand in the footing of the indoor ring and there was a lot of clay and it solidified to the point where there was no top footing. I wanted him to come back and loosen up the footing that was already there and mix it up with some sand. He said that he would do that but he never came to look and see what it looked like. He had said that he would come a week after Labor Day but he didn't come and he didn't call. I called him up about a week later and asked him what was going on and he said that he would come the next week but he didn't come and didn't call either. I had sent him a check for half of the money that he was charging me to do the 60 by 120 indoor arena. He had cashed my check and I hadn't heard a thing from him even after seven weeks. I then sent him an e-mail saying that I was not interested in him doing the work any more and asked him to return my deposit. He sent me an e-mail saying that he had already ordered for the sand and had already paid for it and that he could not return my money. He requested me to let him come the next week and do the work and allowed him to do that. He sent his guys over the following week and they spent half an hour trying to break up what was there. They gave up after half an hour and just put the sand on top and left. I then got a bill for the rest of the money. The sand on top is much too slick and fine and it needed to be mixed. He needed to do what he said he wasn’t going to do but he didn't do it. My manager then called the people at the quarry that delivered the sand and asked them when he had ordered the sand. It turned out that he had only ordered for it three days before it showed up and it was not yet paid for. He had lied to me in order to get me to let him finish the job, plus he hadn't finished the job. I wrote back to him and told him that it was a mess and that he hadn't done the right thing and that he had lied to me and I haven't heard from him. I didn't pay him the remaining amount since he didn't finish the job. My son who is a lawyer told me that I could sue him but I don't feel that it is worth it for the amount.
