Drywall Service
My brother does construction and other carpentry work. When we remodeled our basement, I asked him for a recommendation to do the drywall. He had experience with Beinhaur Drywall and recommended them. Based on that I contacted Bruce Beinhaur and had an estimate done. Because this is a basement and we had experienced some water and dampness, we specified "blueboard" for its water resistance. Bruce explained that those sheets were much more expensive. We proceeded with the work.
Our first unhappiness came when they had three sheets of the expensive blueboard left over and the final price dropped very little from the estimate. When asked, Bruce minimized it saying they would just need to take it back into inventory.
When we began painting the primer coat, we noticed areas of the walls that were not finished properly. Bruce came back and looked at it. He had no explanation. He had previously explained how they use a trouble light to go over all the walls to finish them. When he followed up with his team--he had not worked the job personally--he found that the bulb in the trouble light had burned out and they had not bothered to get a new one. He sent his guys back. The job was better, but not good. We paid the adjusted bill.
About this time my brother stopped in to see how the job was going. When he looked at the drywall, he thought the job was unacceptable. He called Bruce and expressed his unhappiness with the job. Bruce hung up on him. My brother called back. No answer. Needless to say my brother is no longer using Beinhaur Drywall. He personally went over the walls to work on them since he had recommended Bruce.
We found Bruce to be very unprofessional and would never consider using him again.
