Ollis Brothers

I called Ollis Brothers about 9:10 in the morning. The lady answering the phone was very polite but not overly encouraging that someone could come out today. "We will try, but we have a very busy schedule," she said. By 11 a.m. the repairman arrived, opening the door from the outside and going to work. In short order he replaced two springs and 4 wheels. He oiled the components. Finally, he adjusted the door so that a crevice (that had been there a long time) was eliminated and the door lay flat on the floor. He did more than I had asked and was done by about 11:30. Only then did he check in with my wife -- to give her the good news that the work was done and the door was all fixed. I can't imagine how any aspect of this job -- the quick response, the professionalism, attending to the crack -- could have been done any better.

Someone came out to the house, discussed with me the replacement of the two garage doors, quoted a price on the spot and followed up with an estimate/agreement in the mail.  All very simple and straight forward.  I was also given an estimate of the soonest they could get to it.  Due to the workload and holidays, it would be mid-January...and that's about when I received a call and they scheduled the day for the replacement.  The crew showed up at the expected time and went right to work replacing the doors and the tracks, rollers and springs. Everything went smoothly and when they had finished they asked me to take a look.  It looked great.  One of the guys pointed out a very small "ding" in one of the panels of the one garage door.  It was about the size of a thumb print. It was so minor I don't think I would have noticed it, but I really appreciated the fact that they pointed it out and they said they would put in an order for a replacement panel (just one of the panels of the 4 making up the garage door).  And they did that and followed up. I was bvery happy with Ollis Brothers and would use them again.

My brackets holding up the the garage door to the ceiling were loose. A collapse was going to happen soon. I called in the morning and service was performed that afternoon. What great service!! The two mechanics fixed my problem and were on their way in less than 1/2 hour. Also, nicest trucks in the business.

We have had good experience with them with the garage doors. They were very efficient. They cleaned up afterwards. They used good products. We have used them in the past for a previous home that we owned. I know that they were competitive with the pricing. I do remember that we had gotten several quotes and they were probably the most reasonable.

I was very, very happy with them. They were recommended by a neighbor and they were really good and gave us access to online site where we could chose different variety of garage doors that would work within my budget so that we could get the garage doors that we wanted within our means. He came out and installed it and was very quick and it was just a couple of hours. They were here and gone quick and didn't create any mess and everything was done very well.

Called 3 installers, one never showed up, the other never retrunes my call. Ollis had done work for me at my home in 1979 and a couple of minor repairs since then. I knew he was a little pricey but but the call to the office and follow up calls were handled promptly and accurately. I was unable to haggle on price. Snow delayed the installation of the doors by a couple of weeks. but the
new doors are great, work as promised ()quiet). The installers arrived early and finished the work in about 3.5-4hours. The garage area was clean and the doors work just fine.

He replaced both of them, since he didn't have one to match the unbroken one. There was a lot of stuff in the garage, and he was really nice about working around it. My only concern (and the reason for the B rating on Quality) is that the new springs are smaller, so I worry that they won't last. The B rating on Price is because I had to pay for the time to install both springs.

The representative who gave me the estimate was prompt and professional. He answered my questions and sent the estimate in a timely manner. The office staff was also very friendly and helpful when I called to set up a time for the work to be done. The price was reasonable and the work was done efficiently and well. The old wooden door was removed and all of the debris taken away by Ollis. I would never have known anyone was there since in terms of clean up of the job. I am very happy with the door they installed and would definitely use them again.

Jim Ollis came out immediately upon request. The price was sent over the next day and the door was ordered and installed when promised. The installers did a great job. Excellent company. I would highly recommend them and will use them for all our future needs.

The service turned out great. They were fantastic. They were very responsive and did excellent carpentry work to make sure everything fit nicely. We installed specialty hinges that they handled well.

After a couple days I called on a Wednesday for service. I was told they could come that Friday between 10-2 PM, so I left the middle door up. They came and replaced the spring they custom build for each job. The doors are warrantied for as long as you own the home. The hardware and springs for five years.
Needless to say, I was SHOCKED when I got a bill in the snail mail for $375.00 to install a new spring that the contract says and quot;we custom build to fit each door properlyand quot; They never asked how it broke! It clearly staes all hardware and spring warranteed for five years I called the office and they put me on hold for a short time. When she came back she said just send $190.00 for the labor, since I told her the contract said it was guaranteed for FIVE years. I am a businessman, and didn't buy her reason why I was billed $375.00. The reason is many people would just pay it, and not ask any questions. If it's guaranteed for Five years and it was barely three why should I be billed at all. They were not the least expensive of the three estimates I got, in fact they were by a great deal the MOST expensive. But, I liked talking to the owner, and was pleased with the oringinal work.
There were the usually sharp screws left on the floor, but I cleaned them up before one of my cars ran one over and got a flat. But that is workmanship in 2008.
I am not pleased that, and feel I was taken advantage of on this last call. The part that bothers me the most is no one ever asked and quot;how did the spring breakand quot; All I did was try to lift the door while the power was out. Will it breal again, I wonder?

Great experience. I called and told them one of the cables snapped, and they came the next day to fix it. While at my home they recommended I replace all four because they were worn and fraying. Now both are working better than ever.

The doors I had were 30 years old and I needed something more efficients. They were prompt and professional. I would rate them with top quality and use them again.

THE GENTLEMEN THAT FIXED OUR DOOR WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND PROMPT. HOWEVER, THEY WERE A BIT SLOPPY, AND THE QUALITY OF WORK DONE WAS NOT 100%.

OLLIS BROTHERS CAME OUT ON TIME AND REPLACED OUR DOORS WITH OUT ANY TROUBLES.
