Description of Work: Came for an estimate and said they would get back to me. Never did. They gave my name and information, without my permission, to an employee who then called me and offered to come for an estimate on his own, as my project wasn't big enough for Rave's to do. Evidently they only work on expensive mansions in the area. I did end up employing this "sub contractor" who did a very nice job, but I was not happy about their sharing my personal information without my permission. They should have reccommended him to me, given me his name and number so I could have chosen to call or not. Non professional! I use Angie's list in order to get reviews from well known, previously reviewed and investigated companies. Didn't help in this case. I called and asked to speak to the owner to complain. They took my number but he did not call me back. Not rich enough I guess. I wouldn't reccommend Rave's to anyone but I have reccommended the sub contractor and will contact him again.

Description of Work: I visited their landscaping location to see variety of product and if their inventory looked healthy and well taken care of. Very pleased to find many, many species of plants and all looked very healthy. I will definitely be going back to purchase and ask for professional planting advise.

Description of Work: Rob Rave and the Rave Landscaping team did an amazing job with the design and execution of our home's landscaping. Our home is new construction and had no existing landscaping before Rob and his crew came in. After listening to what we wanted, Rob came back with a very professional and visually impressive blueprint for what our new landscaping would look like. Since we were not very well versed in what plants/trees/shrubs/flowers do best in our terrain and climate, Rob walked us through each and every plant that he recommended for us. Being a true professional, he thought of many aspects of the layout that we would have never considered if we had done it ourselves or worked with another outfit. To include what plants the deer eat, what plants do well in a windy environment, blooming schedules of various plants, and numerous other details that a novice would never have known. He was very thorough and very easy to work with throughout the process. His team of workers were very courteous and efficient. They were able to complete the plan in the time that they promised and most importantly, it looks amazing.

Description of Work: Rob Rave, owner of Rave Landscaping, Inc. has been doing work for my husband and me since he graduated from Penn State University and opened his business in Dallas,PA. Our association has been for 32 years.In 1980,Rob landscaped a one acre property for us on Orchard Lane in Clarks Summit PA. His work included building blue stone sidewalks, flagstone patios, fieldstone walls, and occasional pruning, fertilizing, and spraying.Throughout 25 years that we lived on Orchard Lane, Rob's work was praised by family, friends, neighbors, and strangers.During that quarter of a century the landscaping thrived and matured and provided the most beautiful setting for our home. Our new home in Dalton, PA., was completed in August 2007.Rob Rave designed the landscaping and hardscaping for our 2 acre property there.He had a new canvas to work on now.A much different lot and style house then our first one.He worked his magic on it.We loved the design.The plan was detailed and attractive.It included quantities, names, sizes, colors, and locations for every plant, shrub, grass, and tree.Also the layout for bluestone sidewalks, flagstone patios, and a waterfall.The cost for everything was itemized in his bid.The only revision we made was to replace some tall grasses with ground cover in one area and replace tall grasses with shorter ones in another area.The work was done in stages, beginning in 2007, and the majority completed in 2009, although it is still evolving. Beautiful landscaping done by a professional is a big investment.It requires upkeep.When we can't do the pruning, fertilizing, or spraying of shrubs and trees we contract with Rob to get it done.Just like our home, which is our biggest investment,we keep it up.
