I had an older roof which was failing and on its last legs. The final straw was a water leak. I had hired another company to fix the leak and do some other work. After 11 hours on site, I still had the leak and the other work was slipshod. I called Dyllon, the owner of Northeast Roofing Specialists, explained what was going on, and he came out first thing the next morning. He checked the area of the leak and made a temporary repair (which probably would have lasted years) for free and inspected the roof. He explained what was going on and showed me the issues and how they affected the life of the roof. I asked him for a quote on the re-roofing job and was provided with a very reasonable price. In fact, I expected it to be about $2000 more than he quoted! Included in this very reasonable price was... a complete tear off of the old roof and underlayment, Any holes or other penetrations through he roof were repaired, the whole roof was resheathed with OSB (it's a 1939 house and the roof is wood planks) which makes for a practically indestructible roof in combination with the original planks, ice/water barrier, underlayment, new step flashing, new boots around vent pipes, high end Atlas shingles. Actually, he used all Atlas shingle products and their roofing system which can be seen on the Atlas shingle website. Dyllon guarantees his workmanship for five years and the Atlas Signature Select roofing system comes with a 15 year warranty, instead of the industry standard 10 years. The work took two days. His crew came out on one day, got most of the tear off done and the new materials in place. Overnight, they made sure the roof was water proof and protected. The next day, they came out with a larger crew and got the roof fully completed in just a five or six hours. Dyllon made sure he checked on the progress and made sure any unforeseen issues were addressed. He kept me updated as the work went along as I had other commitments elsewhere. When all the work was done, his crew did a very thorough job of cleaning. I expected to find some little piece of old shingle or a bit of packaging which might have blown into a hard to see corner but, NO! There was not a single scrap of construction debris anywhere to be found! There was a neat, organized pile of unused roofing material left behind which was collected and removed the next day. I am very happy with the work Dyllon and his crew did. I have no hesitation recommending him for any roofing project. His prices are very fair and reasonable. His crew is knowledgable and proficient. They certainly work hard and they work quick. There was no idle time or sitting around, at all! BTW, they did this work in NEPA, in November, in 40-45 degree temps! Great company, great owner, great work crew!
