During the near zero degree temperature in January, our pipes froze and a couple burst. On 1/25/2011 during that time, we called around for a plumber to help with the pipes. At the time, the only available plumber was E.T. Plumbers. The plumber, Eric Truzzi said that he would be out within the hour. He arrived 4 hours late. I asked to see is license ... he produced a license which later we found out that it was fake. He started working on our pipes and heard that we were trying to get a gas line installed for a supplemental heater and said that he could do that as well. He said that he would have to go to a hardware store to get the proper fittings. An hour later, Eric Truzzi returned with the supplies and installed the gas line. He ignited and turned on the heater. I paid him $250.00. Twenty minutes after he left, we were overcome by gas fumes. I called Eric Truzzi whom stated that he was at another emergency call and would return ... which he never did... even after numerous calls. With the fumes getting worse, I turned off the heater and shut off the gas line. Three days later when a technician from Beverly Services came out to service the "gas line", he informed us that the pipe fittings installed by Eric Truzzi were entirely too big and gas was leaking from them. He also stated that the supplemental heater was LP gas ... not natural gas. Had the heater been on a few minutes longer, there would have been an explosion. In addition we discovered that the replaced water pipes were also leaking because they were too large. Eric Truzzi of E.T. Plumbing & Sewer Service never responded to our messages and I still see his advertisements in the local yellow pages and Craig's List.
Description of Work: The work that was supposed to be performed was replacement of pipes and installation of a gas line for supplemental heating.
