DISPIGNO PLUMBING

Mixed. While I was pleased to have a new shower head in the 2nd floor shower, I was disappointed that the main reason that I had called for a plumber, the shower leak, was still unresolved. I chose not to undertake this repair at this time because I would have been responsible for repairing the tile wall of my bathroom, and I was not prepared to do it at that time. Warning to other AHS customers: I asked for written estimates on a couple other non AHS jobs. He gave me an verbal estimate on one job while he was there, but never followed up with the written estimate even though I called back later. I was upset that at least one of these jobs that I asked for estimates for that we discussed as not covered by AHS, and apart from the AHS service call, he reported to AHS so that they would limit the service AHS would provide to me in the future. Also, he said if I did not pay $185.00 to add a flow control to my water heater, my water heater would be excluded from the AHS plan.

DISPIGNO PLUMBING WAS CONTRACTED BY OUR HOME WARRANTY ISSUER. LOU ARRIVED NEAR THE END, BUT WITHIN, THE TWO-HOUR PROMISED TIME-WINDOW. HE DETERMINED THAT OUR PROBLEM WASN'T A PLUMBING PROBLEM PER SE, THUS NOT COVERED. RATHER IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE SEALING OF THE SHOWER/TUB ENCLOSURE WHERE PIPES WENT THROUGH FROM BEHIND. ALTHOUGH NOT COVERED, HE FELT THE NEED TO DO SOMETHING IN LIGHT OF THE $50 MINIMUM SERVICE CALL FEE, SO HE RECAULKED THE HARDWARE ON THE INSIDE OF THE SHOWER/TUB ENCLOSURE (VERY NEATLY), AND HE TRIED TO FILL IN THE HOLE WHERE THE TUB SPIGOT WENT THROUGH FROM THE ACCESS PANEL BEHIND THE TUB. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS HOLE WAS EITHER TOO LARGE OR STILL WET FROM HIS EARLIER ATTEMPT TO FIND THE LEAK, SO THE CAULK FAILED TO STOP THE LEAK (A GOOD DEAL ACTUALLY RAN OUT TO THE BUCKET BELOW). ''A'' FOR EFFORT THOUGH WHEN HE WASN'T TECHNICALLY REQUIRED TO DO ANYTHING.
