Through DirectBuy our customers can purchase nearly anything for their home without retail markup. We work with over 700 name brand manufacturers and in most cases we have access to their complete product line. Additionally we offer professional design services and installation from qualified contrators.

We then went into a TV meeting room, where other potential customers were also present. As soon as we sat down, another presentation was given, this time by the manager. After viewing the first part of the video, the manager discussed how we can save a lot of money by becoming members, and avoid paying and quot;retail dues.and quot; He then presented the rest of the video, which covered the cost of membership.
Apparently, to join for 3 years (there is no 'one year option' available when joining), you have to pay $4541 (which, of course, can be paid over a period of time!) Membership after that for each year varied, but was +/- $200 -- individualized per member.
Then came the hard sell. We ended staying there from 7pm to 10:30pm to listen to what sounded good on paper UNTIL the price of membership and terms and conditions were revealed. I had gone in there with an open mind, thinking that if the membership was no and gt; $150/year, then it might be worth it to be able to buy at such low costs. I was dumbfounded, however, when the truth was revealed.
On top of the hard sell, potential customers have to make up their minds right there and then at the showroom. One is not given the option to go home and think about it for a few days before acting on it. If you turn it down, you are not and quot;invitedand quot; back again at any time even if you change your mind.
We were never given the promised tour of the showroom, and were not able to view their catalogues for price comparisons (except for the one page that was shown @ the video session.) We did receive the tablet, so that was the only positive thing I can say about this experience.

I am sorry that you did not feel as though we could have helped you or that we mistreated you on your visit. I was under the impression that you left very happy, just that you wanted to continue buying through retailers. Many times when members remodel a kitchen they tell us that they save far more than the membership on the one project. Remember, we do not make a profit on the merchandise, just the membership. If you go to a typical retailer to complete the project the retailer is likely to make more than the membership in retail profit and you will continue to pay retail markup on all future purchases. At DirectBuy, once you cover your membership cost in savings, you would no longer need to pay retail markup. Upon your visit you were welcomed to look at any pricing that you wanted, but I do not recall that neither you nor [member name removed] asked to see any pricing. We do have several memberships, including trial memberships that are significantly less expensive, and allow folks to give us a "trial run" before completely committing. Unfortunately, if I recall correctly you were not interested in hearing about the other options. I am sorry that I did not fully explain to you both all the options so that you would have been able to use the DirectBuy services. If you have not yet remodeled your kitchen, even though I cannot offer you the products at the factory price, I would be happy to have our designer work with you on a design and recommend you to some excellent retail services that I know. Also, I can recommend you to some fantastic installers that can assist you with whatever cabinets you select. I apologize for not assisting you as best I could and not giving the ability to utilize our service."
