"Hi [Member Name Removed], We're thrilled to read of your pleasure with our work and overall compliments! Its clients like you that incent us to do our best. In the long run the rewards are mutual--happy clients and proud workers. Sincerely, Carl Stevens"
"I remember this project well and am happy to hear that everything worked out to your liking. Let me also thank you for writing about your experience with Stevens Woodworks, too. Sincerely, Carl Stevens"
"Thank you for taking the time and effort to write about your experiences with this project and Stevens Woodworks. You are truly welcome clients to work with and your home is a marvelous structure in which we strive to maintain its true character through authentic design and workmanship. Sincerely, Carl Stevens"
This was our second project with Carl Stevens. Once again, he blew us away with the quality and creativity of his work. We have an arch top entryway and the original door was over 70 years old and you could see daylight coming through it. We wanted a unique speak easy design with and Carl was only too happy to accommodate us. We had priced out "custom" arch top doors at Lowes and they were actually around the same price as Carl's custom made doors, and of course not really custom.
Not only is the door beautiful, and almost like a work of art, Carl spent the extra time to make sure it was hung perfectly. It works like a charm, it is so smooth and it is so beautiful.
Forgot to add, Carl spent time going over different kinds of wood with us, since we have a southern exposure that always gets a lot of light and heat, so we wanted a door/wood that would withstand those conditions. We ended up choosing cypress both for its qualities and the color.
Once more, I cannot say enough good things about Carl Stevens and Stevens WoodWorks.
"Custom doors are one of our specialties. And, it employs old-school woodworking, such that are a dying skillset. And, its most rewarding is to have appreciative clients who recognize and value our craftsmanship. Thank-you for both the pleasure to deliver this project and for being so wonderful to work with."
"And we thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with others on the Angies List website. It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to create and install this piece of furniture. It allowed us to flex our craftsmanship "muscles" and deliver appreciated work. A very rewarding project for my craftsmen."
I had a huge number of albums (vinyl) that I had not been able to keep out due to space limitations, a huge number of CDs and a lot of books. Carl (the owner) designed a beautiful office/music room carefully engineering the space to accommodate all my albums. cds and books inside beautiful cherry cabinetry and a beautiful custom desk with a copper top. I cannot say enough good things about Carl and the work he does. He is very accommodating and definitely designs and builds to the needs/desires of the customer. We plan on having Carl come back and create a custom arch top door for our entryway in the fall when he has time.
The project took longer then anticipated, but the results where well worth it. I would much rather have a quality job that runs over the quoted time frame than a hurried shoddy job that gets done on time.
Carl is both a master carpenter and designer. What a gem!
"I must say I’m flattered and sincerely appreciative of your recent post on Angie’s List. These testimonials are what really drives Angie’s List and, in turn, our own success. I also agree entirely with your appraisal in that we took much longer to deliver and install than expected—much to my displeasure. But, ultimately, I sleep better knowing that we delivered on quality, perhaps at the expense of time. From a fortune cookie in a Chinese lunch one day read this, “People soon forget how fast you did a job—but, they remember how well you did it.” And thank you for the great project!"
The (almost) finished product looks beautiful and Carl clearly takes pride in his work and does a really good job. The quality is top-notch. We let him come and go to our house as he pleased and did not have any concerns about him being in the house while we were not there. However, this has been a really long process. Some of the delays were not in Carl's control but unfortunately, for a couple of months between the middle of April and last week, there were tools and half-built cabinets in one of our garage spots so we could not use it. We are looking forward to being 100% complete, hopefully soon!
Carl was the most responsive of the three contractors. He responded to my initial request within minutes and provided some food for thought in our initial communications. My availability to meet with Carl was limited, as I was only in town for one weekend to meet with the various contractors. While Carl was not available that weekend to provide the quote, he sent two of his team members, who spent about 30 minutes with my wife and I discussing options. Carl followed up with detailed drawings and a quote. While Carl was the highest of the three quotes, I decided to go with him due to his responsiveness and professionalism. Also, knowing that the work would have to be done unsupervised (i.e., while we were out of state), I felt most comfortable having Carl and his team access the house while we were away.
It took Carl and his team about a week to complete the job. Since we could not be there on site, Carl sent periodic status pictures so we could see how the work was progressing. The ceiling looks great. We could also tell via the pictures that Carl and his team took cleanliness very seriously. There was thick pastic sheeting covering all doorways and thick paper covering our wood floors. The house was also clean upon our retrun.
Its also important to note that I had a painting contractor in the house during the same period of time. Carl did a great job of working with the painters to coordinate schedules. I appreciated that the two teams were able to manage the details among themselves.
We plan to use Carl and his team again in the future.
"Mr. [removed members name]. Thank you for the taking the effort to post your experience with us. It is most rewarding to have the opportunity to deliver this project to you. It is very meaningful to have clients that appreciate our quality and sincere efforts to provide the best product we can. Mr. [removed members name] is the type of client we aspire to serving. They appreciate our interest to deliver timely, high quality, conscientious solutions for cabinetry, furniture and associated architectural details. Angie's List was our "IN" to meeting this client and is indicative of the interaction that yields a win-win for both the client and contractor."
"[Member name removed] is great example of the wonderful clients that Angie's List brings to my business. He was cooperative with working through the various details of fitting an unknown drawer and slide manufacturer with a custom built drawer box and new slides. Thank you [Member name removed]!"
"I'm thrilled to hear of your satisfaction, enjoyment and a final resolution to a long-term nagging problem. It was certainly a pleasure working with people who appreciated the complexity of the situation and allowed me to spend the time and extra effort to do the job correctly. I only regret that our shop workers weren't able to come on site to see the results of their labor, too. I'll pass on your compliments. Sincerely, Carl Stevens-owner."
It was an easy transaction. We dealt mostly by email. Carl submitted his design by email. I approved it. He emailed me a contract. It was pretty amazing to see him deliver and install the shelf unit alone
"[member name removed] had an interesting challenge--build a bookcase that would match the surrounding cabinets, hang on the wall and be out of the way yet, serve her well from the standpoint of home office storage. She also wanted to update her existing kitchen cabinets by removing outmoded trim on their tops. We suggested crown molding across their tops as well as on top of the new bookcase. Once installed, the impact was well appreciated. Working with Ms. Spadafora was a pleasure from the start. She has some design and style objectives which helped us address her needs and she willingly listened to our suggestions making for an open and creative process. She also was very appreciative of our crafsmanship which is always rewarding to my crew. Thank-You!"
"This project was one of several that we have done for the Wards including two entrance doors with double sidelights. They have always been a pleasure serving and we appreciate their continued patronage."
"The Customers had clear and specific ideas to aid the design of their TV stand. We enjoyed working them to meet their expectations and desires. Thank you!"
Owner came on site to take final measurements and discuss last minute design changes.
Made 50% deposit payment and finished product was ready for installation in 10 business days.
Very happy with custom oak storage lockers. Includes bench and shoe storage as well as storage bin above lockers.
Relocated an electrical outlet at no additional charge.
Very nice work. Would highly recommend Stephens Woodworks.
"The customers have a beautiful Victorian home that they have strived to remodel. We were thrilled to be included in their projects including a walk-in closet, master bath vanity, laundry room workshelves and a stairway baluster-railing and newel post design we built to replicate others in the home. It was a pleasure working for people that were so appreciative of our craftsmanship. Thank-you!"
"The Customer's engaged us in several projects over the course of the last year including renovating a stairwell and providing all the casework for their master suite and nursery. Their contemporary tastes and extraordinary designs provided a welcome challenge for our craftmanship. To date it is one of our notable installations exhibiting unique designs, finishes and craftsmanship. Thank you for the wonderful business!"
