Uninspired, unimpressive, and unprofessional.
All contacts and communications went well until her last visit when she brought drawings.  She presented a drawing which was incomplete, and did not reflect the information we had discussed with her contractors.  She was supposed to have included this in the drawing, and we had discussed the same with her only days prior to her last visit.
The front yard areas of the drawing were also slightly different from what we had in place already, but it was obvious that she made changes without referencing what we had discussed as our needs and wants from the space.  This after we explicitly stated several times from the very first meeting that we were not interested in changing the front yard until the back yard was done.
At her last visit, she contributed little to further discussions, and then asked for payment of $550, stating that she needed to be paid before she would show us any updated drawings.  The drawings we had were without value and only a slight departure from what was already on our property so we werent about to continue working with her after she held updated work hostage.

I contacted Heather after a referral from another landscaper and she returned my call and sent me a packet of information about her services and a sample of the finished designs she could put together. We were impressed by the information and what she had to offer so we scheduled a time for her to come over and talk to us/take measurements and start the project. A week later she came over and she was a pleasure to work with - very open and easy to talk with and very interested in our likes/dislikes, etc. She told us this was a fairly small design and she would be in touch within a couple of weeks. Two weeks later we had her over again and she presented her design for around the deck and it was beautiful! The design is drawn to scale, in color, and very detailed. On top of the design, she includes a plant list (lists the plants, quantity, and size) that was used in the design, as well as a detailed description/photo of each plant used (size, pruning instructions, etc.) Her work is excellent and very thorough! We were extremely impressed and plan to use Heather again in the future!

I really enjoyed working with Heather Orient. She listens to the customer's desires but also advises on plants which will work in the Pittsburgh area. She wants the plantings to be hardy and grow successfully. She tries out plants at her own garden prior to recommending them to customers. She is busy but worth the wait. I highly recommend having a plan and plant list prior to contacting a landscaping company so you get what you want and know what you are paying for. Heather identifies the size of the plant for the location (ex. 5 gallon Shamrock Holly) so that you don't get a tiny, 1 gallon plant from the nursery. With her careful planning you get a beautiful job.
