"Thank you for the excellent review [Member Name Removed]!"
"[Member Name Removed] I apologize for the inconvenience. Sometimes when we clean out a chimney, a small amount of loose soot can accumulate around the damper which falls down when first you open it. This instance sounds like more than a little soot. I would like to come out when you are available to clean any loose soot in the damper area and offer you a free cleaning for the following year. Please call or email us when you are ready. Thank you Joe"
When I moved into my new home, I wanted to have my chimney inspected before I used my fireplace. The first company I called told me that the fireplace was not in working order due to creosote buildup and a major gap between the smoke chamber and the tiling., They recommended a wood or gas insert, which would cost about $4,000. I decided to get a second opinion and called the Chimney Scientist guys because of Joe's statement that he does not like it when people try to trick him, so he does not trick others. Joe came out, inspected my fireplace, explained how everything worked, suggested a less dramatic option, and REFUSED PAYMENT for his time since he only inspected the unit and did not go up on the roof. I later called Joe for a cleaning since it was clear it had not been done in years. Isaac came and left the living room cleaner than it was when he arrived. He was punctual and polite. We were then able to use the fireplace all winter. In the spring, they came out and resurfaced the liner and did a heavy duty cleaning. Their estimate was very reasonable. They were so easy to work with, explained everything they were doing, and even provided pictures. They were so clean that my roommate did not even know they had been here. Working with them is so easy and pleasant, I recommend them to my friends and neighbors!
