Although we have no account with them and have owned this real estate for more than one year, on July 5, 2023, Blue Flame Superior Plus Energy Services removed two 120 gallon LP tanks that were 80% full from our premises without notice or our authorization. We purchased this property including the two tanks from HUD in 2022. HUD obtained title to the property including the two tanks through a foreclosure process years prior to our purchase. No filings were made for these tanks with any recordation system. Our purchase from HUD included all remaining items of personal property including these two tanks. Our purchase was noted on the property. The used price for these tanks are $1,000 each. 80 % tanks are about 190 gallons of propane at 2.70 per gallon. This company took tanks and propane worth approximately $2,513.00 from our property. Despite clear notice of how to contact us on the front window of the property, the company did not provide any notice. We have owed this property for more than a year, We are a bona fide purchaser for value including these tanks. Alternatively, if the tanks belong to Blue Flame Superior Plus Energy Services, then we are owed payment for the gas and storage cost for the tanks. The local cost for an 8 by 8 storage area such as the location were these tanks were stored is $250 per month or $3,000 per year. We are owed $3,513 in storage and the value of the propane taken.

They come out once a year. I am on a budget plan. There are no complaints. They are timely and reliable. It normally takes them an hour, sometimes a little more or less to complete the work. The workers are nice people.

I have been satisfied with their services. I have no grounds for complaints. They are reliable, no matter if you call them day or not, or if it's snowing or fine weather. The price is out line with some other companies for cleaning and tuning, but the quality is very good. I have been using them for the last 8-9 years.

They deliver automatically. I don't know the price, so I have no comparison. They come when we need oil, we've never run out. They are good if we need an air conditioning system  checked or something. They clean our furnace and check the air conditioner every year. The workers are very good. I gave them a B for quality, I don't think they do anything outstanding.

I inherited Superior from McCandless Fuels, who for many years did an excellent job. In the past

 3 years or so, Superior has replaced oil tanks in all 3 houses. Unfortunately, they continually bill my account for fill us in the rental Houses and fight me when I call to attempt to straighten things out. In addition, they frequently get my tenant's billing incorrect as well. My next door tenant ran out of oil last week and got an emergency fill up but Superior did not prime the burner so no heat. I called them and was told there would be a service charge even though I have an expensive service contract on the burner. I do not think superior has gotten an invoice correct in the past 3 years - it is always a hassle with them. Additionally, I find out that their prices are well above the competition, for instance, propane was billed at $1.00 a gallon lower then Superior.

Anyway, I have gotten an very good response from another Angie's list company, Haly Oil, and plan to switch companies for the fall. Season.

They were very reliable. When you're getting a generator, you need an electrician who tie everything onto your circuit board and set up the transfer switch that automatically switches over to the generator when you have a power outage. That thing is a blessing and a life saver for me.

The techs at this company have always been superb over the years. I have had a service contract for two gas boilers and two gas hot water heaters with Kelley Energy/Superior Plus at this rental property for over 20 years. However, the price of the service contract increased each year and fewer parts and services are covered. The previous year I had to spend $120. (on top of the service contract) for a service that used to be included at no cost.  In this case, a renewal for my contract was never sent to me. When I had an issue I learned that I was not covered and they would not let me renew without a 30 waiting period. My only option was to pay an exorbitant fee for a tech to come to the property and pay retail for all parts and service. When I protested and asked what they could do to help a longtime customer the response from the telephone representative was, "do you want me to send someone out or not?"  Quite a way to treat a long time customer.  Needless to say I did not utilize their service nor will I ever again in the future.

I have been on contract with Superior Plus for my gas heater, since they bought out Kelly Energy years ago.  Prior to that I was on contract with Kelly Energy for several years - a total of over 10 yrs between the two companies. The technicians who have been out to our house for cleanings and a rare call, have always been professional, knowledgeable and courteous. The problem is the the main office.  I have, over the years, never had to call about the losing heat - until this past month.  Our furnace stopped igniting on Christmas night.  I called at 2am and didn't have someone dispatched until after 7 AM.  The technician was able to get the furnace to ignite and said everything was fine. Last night the EXACT incident occurred again.  The heat went off around 2am.  I called and no one was dispatched until 9AM this morning.  The technician diagnosed the problem, went out and purchased the part (not covered by contract) and has installed it. Main office uses an answering service during off hours (5PM to 8 AM) and they do not seem to provide any support to customers during that time.  The messages taken are simply stored.  This is VERY disappointing after having paid for contracts all these years, including heater cleaning, etc.  Twice now, we have been without heat all night into the morning. I selected that I would stay with this provider, because I am under contract.  I will review Angie's List for other providers.

UPDATE: Since December 25th, 2013, I have had to call 4 times for the same problem (in less than 2 months).  The gas furnace will not ignite.  The problem has occurred every time through the night.  We lose heat, I call, the answering service says they will pass the message to dispatcher, I never hear from dispatcher.  All of a sudden many hours later, I get a call from a technician that he is in the area.   The technicians have done following: 12/25/13 - burners came on suddenly after not working for 10 hrs.  he said he saw nothing wrong  Did nothing. mid Jan, 2014 - replaced a part end of Jan. 2014 - said there was a loose piece probably from the last service call. Feb. 17, 2014 - called and was told a dispatcher would be in touch with me within 4-6 hours! Their central office is unresponsive, unprofessional and has NO concern for the customer.  Every time I've called I'm told "there is a high call volume"!  Of course there is, it's winter! They have too many customers and handle them very poorly.    I have had a contract with Superior Plus since they bought out Kelly Energy several years ago. Before this year, I've only called for service 2x over 10+yrs. , I can't even get my cleaning in, that I paid for in October 2013. I am scheduled for March 2014. I recommend that no one use this company.

This company cannot follow basic instructions from homeowners on when to fill their propane tank.  We have been without fuel/heat...since early morning, so 12 hours.  We have been waiting for 6hours for a re-fill to arrive.  So far, we are still waiting and trying to find another company for an emergency fill...

Oil prices are always higher than competitors. Service prices are high also. Original company was Sunoco Home Comfort. When they were bought out by this company, service and oil prices went up in price.

The oil tank could not be repaired and it was impossible to install a new one, so they convinced me to switch to propane. They removed the old tank and installed external propane tanks and gave me a new pump. They are allowing me to pay off my balance ($2,440) interest free with monthly payments of $102.00. They did what they promised, my only complaint was that they did not do a great job of communicating with me - I have found out that I now have two accounts with the same company, one for the installation and one for the propane.

Do Not Use Read the fine print. They lock you into an automatic renewing contract which they claim is legal. Their prices tend to jump. And they will fight you when you try to end the contract. Do not use this company. Every neighbor on my block has dropped them for the same reason.

Superior bought Sunnoco Home Heating service several years ago and it has been all down hill since they purchased the company.  The service guys are still great, however dealing the the office is a nightmare.  They make constant billing errors and are slow to correct, now I have canceled my service contract due to moving.  I was due money, but instead of receiving a check from Superior,  I receive another invoice and a lat fee totaling $300, they put the credit to my account in the wrong direction.  Now I will have to spend another hour of my time on the phone to have them correct one of their errors.

The sales rep, Ed Briganti, was knowledgeable and professional.  He kept appointments and did everything he said he would do.  he was responsive to email and phone questions.  The reason the "responsiveness" grade is "C" has to do with getting the Conshohocken office to answer their phone.  Ed himself was fine once I got through. 
In order to get through, I complained via email to corporate management.  To their credit, a couple of top executives really jumped on the case and followed through all the way to make sure I was getting the service I wanted.  They also gathered information about what may have gone wrong with their phone system to make the initial contact attempt so frustrating.
The conversion crew showed up as scheduled on Tuesday morning to begin the conversion.  It was scheduled to go to 3pm on Thursday.  It actually went a bit past 4, which wias most impressive considering the unexpected challenges they ran into.  The workmanship is first-rate.  The system passed its initial test on the first try.  An initial test was sufficient on this hottest day of the year so far!
The crew was courteous, trustworthy, and professional.  Due to family medical issues, I had to leave them alone in the house much of the time.  My trust was well-placed.
The work included complete removal of the oil and oil tanks and the old oil furnaces.  The first thing they did was disconnect and remove the oli filler pipe from the side of the house and seal up the hole.  That prevented any "fill the basement" type accident if my former oil company's automatic delivery system became overzealous.  That sort of care and attention to detail, along with excellent workmanship, was the hallmark of the conversion.
When they were done, the musty old dirt-floor cellar looked better, smelled better, and was cleaner than I had seen it in twenty-five years.

Superior Plus bought Sunoco Home Comfort and continued to employ the Sunoco service people. The service people, who come to your house, are top notch, professional and very pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately, the office is poorly run. It's hard to get someone to answer the phone and are generally unhelpful. The service contract requires that the homeowner purchase all of the fuel oil from Seperior Plus, with automatic delivery.They refuse to write a contract without this requirement. Since Superior Plus oil is about 50 cents higher per gallon than the competition, your annual costs can be Hundreds of dollars more than the average for the area.I switched to another service company at $100 more than Superior Plus, but, after purchasing oil, will save about $200 overall.
