My initial contact was with their home office located in Michigan which I did not know at that time because of the 800 phone number. They then contacted me via e-mail. A local sub-contractor for SWAT did the actual installation. The installation was done In December 2012, and when the test results did not meet their promised result, I contacted them at the 800 number with very poor results. The first step was to repeat the test which was worse than the first one post-installation. After that, it was difficult to get a message through to them, for the representative I did finally reach continued to read from a script and not hear what I was attempting to tell him. In frustration, I filed a dispute with my credit card company, called the PA Department of Environmental Protection, and filed a complaint with the BBB and the PA State Attorney General's Office. The home office in Michigan then called to resolve the issue, but again, with great difficulty, I attempted to describe the problem. They insisted that I would not allow them to close a French drain. That was NOT TRUE. I was asked to drop my dispute and allow the payment to proceed in exchange for their assistance in resolving the radon issue. I refused to pay before receiving what was promised, a good move, indeed! Regional Operations Manager, Mike Kluza, was summoned to visit my home and try to resolve the radon issue. Finally, someone who understands the radon issue and is willing to give me what I was promised! The resolution took MANY phone calls and many months. Mike Kluza accepted payment in June, after the number finally reached 3.0 pCi/L. EPA recommends it be 4.0 or lower. If you contact this company, be sure to get the LOCAL distributor who is attempting to satisfy customers as per the promises in their literature, and be sure to pay by credit card so that any dispute will be resolved before payment is made. I believe that if I had dealt with Mike from the beginning, I would have had the result I expected without all the complaining and phone calls that became necessary. The A-F ratings above do not reflect on Mike Kluza, rather on the Michigan office personnel.
