were able to pump out the oil, clean, cut up and remove the tanks and the piping without spilling a drop.
On discovering the two tanks were on their sides in a "crawl space" the final price was a small amount more than the original estimate
The whole process was completed within three hours time and a large problem that had worried me for several years
was immediately solved. I would highly recommend them for anyone with a similar situation.
quoted me a price of $550 Total to do the job!! That included DRAINING the REMNANTS of any REMAINING OIL, CUT UP the
TANK, REMOVAL ot the TANK, also REMOVAL OF THE FILL PIPE/VENT PIPING from the WALL, and then CEMENTING the
PIPING HOLES in the WALL!! They then CLEANED UP that AREA, and there were NO SIGNS of any Oil Spillage or Leaks!! All this was DONE in Less than 2hrs.!! Also, after getting the initial quote of $550, I told Timothy that I was AWAITING a few Price Quotes from some other Companies, and that I would get back to him and let him know, one way or the other!! About a half hour later,Timothy called back and OFFERED ME a $100 DISCOUNT off the $550 Price, if I GAVE HIM the JOB for the Next Morning with an 8:15 am. ARRIVAL TIME!! He stated that he had a Last MINUTE CANCELLATION in the WILMINGTON Area, and that he Trys
to KEEP a FULL WORK SCEDULE as much as possible!! I was VERY PLEASED with his PROFESSIONALISM and CLEAR COMMUNICATION!!
house. Wow, what a difference.
We have them coming back to take out the old furnace. First rate job.
They arrived exactly on time at 8am. They covered all floors and stairs. There were five men. Two pumped the oil out of the tank and into their truck. They informed me of each step, especially the loud banging sound when they compressed the tank and then removed it from the house without a drop of oil being spilled. They also eliminated any oil vapors.
They did all of this within an hour!! I was very impressed with their professionalism and prompt service.
After the other candidates, I left skid marks getting back to Tim. We booked with him, and he even did some juggling to schedule us the next week.. A day or two before the event, he called to move the time of day a few hours later. Then he and his workmen showed up politely-early for the appointment.
I kinda' had an anticipation that oil tank and boiler removal was going to be one of the more loud and ugly projects you can have done to your home. Extricating the oil, sawing the tank and 700 lbs of cast iron boiler, then hauling it up out of the basement to the truck, sounds like it would be a full day of noisy grinding, and loud grunting and groaning. With the occasional oil-drip-to-be-found later.
Not so, with Tim and his guys.
I'm guessing he had on an extra guy because he had a busy scheduled day, but those guys knocked it out in just a few hours or so. It seemed barely any sawwing/grinding noise at all, and they use a mechanical Stepwalker (whatever it's called) to get the iron safely up the steps, so there are no wall dents or strained workers.
Since they had the time, for a reasonable extra charge they also removed a nasty old concrete/iron twin-sink which was taking up more floorspace than it ever deserved.
IMHO, working with Tim was an easy, no muss, no fuss experience. That's the way I like it.
They came, they sawwed, they conquered. And left nothing behind except tidiness, and a job well done.
(Note: Angie's should consider a separate category for heating equipment etc removal. It's a niche within the HVAC category, but it's a service which has more value to it than meets the eye)
