Perez Design Build Remodel is a full service Design/Build firm providing customers in Wyoming, Lackawanna, Susquehanna and Luzerne Counties everything from home renovation to design and Custom Home construction services. Our projects range from the simplest kitchen or bathroom remodeling to the most complex custom designed and built dream home. We emphasize the use of best-quality materials, installed and finished to the highest standards. Our work/design process is centered on a close mutual partnership with our clients, as well as open, continuous communication every step of the way. We purposely schedule work to keep costs low and adhere to a schedule that disrupts your living as little as possible. We are conscious to the fact that you live where we work. We were especially grateful to Perez for diagnosing a problem with our roof that had led to its premature degradation and reduced durability. A second opinion by another contractor confirmed their evaluation. Furthermore, we explored the option of a metal roof, and were satisfied with the thorough analysis Perez provided.
The Perez client website was an unexpected and highly valued benefit to doing business with this particular company. Schematics, contracts, design selections, correspondence messages between us and our salespeople/project-manager, and daily photographs of the project's progress - everything was available to view online.
The Perez design center in Clarks Summit is impressive. It was there that we chose our shingles. The salesman educated us as to the different manufacturers, their warranties and guarantees, and even the companies' history and longevity. We felt very confident in our final choice. We were also able to meet with a designer who showed us many modern and attractive options for future renovations we anticipate realizing. Available selections ran the gamut from budget-friendly to custom.

The original renovation and construction went fairly well, with the exception of a couple weeks when no one showed up to do anything at all. The siding/roofing job was done by an outside contractor that they used....not their own siding/roofing crew. They had to come back here at least four times to fix problems with the siding, the trim and the shingles. It STILL looks very unprofessional in spots.
Then, the problems began...the hardwood flooring separated in various locations, the sheet rock in the sun room cracked in two places on an outside wall and along the ceiling peak, COLD air came into the cabinet under my gas cook top freezing your feet as you stood and cooked, and then the horrible clicking and popping noise happened/happens in the kitchen ceiling every time the heat comes on!
2013...Perez came back and addressed all these issues. They fixed the sheet rock, they fixed the flooring, they tried to fix the COLD air problem, but didn't resolve it (I had to live with it during this very cold winter) and they tried, in their own strange way, to fix the noise in the ceiling by cutting a "door-sized" hole in the new sheet rock in my kitchen wall! Now, mind you, the noise is in the ceiling? I lived with the COLD air and the irritating noise in the ceiling for the entire fall and winter of 2013!
This Spring 2014, as other issues appeared, along with some of the same ones that they had fixed last year, Mr. Adam Perez came to the house to see for himself, took pictures, and was given a list of the issues.
Floor separating, noise still in ceiling, cold air still coming into cabinet, crown molding separating from ceiling, sheet rock cracks in the same places as before, sun room door sticks and isn't level, wainscoting loose on island, molding loose along floor, and the grout is separating between back splash and counter top. Since I gave him that list, I now have a place on the sun room floor where the finish is peeling off the flooring when water from a bad storm came in under the door.
After that meeting, it was 8 1/2 weeks with NO communication from him!
When we finally heard from Perez, we decided not to have anything fixed until summer was over as we were going to be going on vacation, having parties, etc. and did not want to have the disruption and the mess to deal with. Which was fine with Perez.
October 2014 update:
The sheet rock has been repaired, crown molding fixed, wainscoting and molding fixed, grout was redone, the hardwood flooring was fixed...except for the pieces by the sun room door where I was told they would have to remove the molding at the base of the wall to get to the end piece in order to remove the flooring to get to the bad pieces? Or, I could just get a color stick and color it back in? I told them to forget it, I will just live with it and put a big throw rug over it! The door is still uneven and will remain that way as they showed no interest in fixing it. It would have to be totally taken out and rehung. The cold air under the cabinet was addressed, this time, from the outside. Now, that we are having cold weather again, it is STILL cold under there and you can feel it on the floor! The hardwood flooring separation is also starting to appear once again.
Now, to the BIG issue....the noise (clicking and popping) in the kitchen ceiling every time the heat comes on. This is from the water pipes being re-routed at the time of renovation. They DO NOT intend to fix it! I was told, it is "our" fault, but we can't/won't take the ceiling down to fix it. So, I will have to live with and listen to this every time the heat turns on and I do!!
As they were leaving my house, after fixing all they intended to fix, one of the men said to me....now, Pat, we don't want to hear from you ever again! I think he was partially "joking", but I told him to be careful what he wishes for!
To say that I am less than pleased, is an understatement! I would and don't recommend Perez to anyone! I tell my story to any one who asks me and will listen?
Professionalism is not their middle name or their first name! This is totally unacceptable!

While I am in disagreement as to the accuracy of the facts in your review I do not see the point of disputing them with you. You feel the way you feel about me, our company, and our work and I know there is nothing I can say or do to change it because we sure did try. For that I am sorry. Across our 33 years in business we have worked with over 1,000 local clients and have earned a referral rate of over 95%. Through this we have learned that in such a customer service centric business; sometimes even though we are giving our clients a 100% effort we have to accept the fact that some customers will never be happy and will never refer us no matter how pure our intention or how hard we try. That’s a tough pill for us to swallow but case in point. This review will stay with us as a source of disappointment and sadness since, though we tried, we could not earn [member name removed] as a member of our extended Perez family.
