James Taylor Roofing

I was initially very pleased. The crew was professional and careful, paying attention to every detail. Ray expressed a focus on pride in the quality of the finished work and it showed. There was only one small aspect of the job left to do. I paid the full amount, and Ray took the materials that I had provided, planning to make some changes before coming back to install them. That was almost 9 months ago. In the intervening time, I have made many phone calls and sent multiple faxes and have received absolutely no response. Because of the disinterest in taking the 20 minutes necessary to complete the agreed upon work, an extremely positive experience has become a negative one.

I found James Taylor roofing through Angie's List. After getting bids from James and two other top rated construction companies my wife and I chose James Taylor roofing. During the process of learning about roof replacement options I learned that they also installed Dow Solar Shingles so we decided to consider them. James worked directly with the Dow representative to deliver  a custom plan just for our home. James and his crew did a fantastic job installing the roof and the awesome solar shingles. Better yet the follow up has been more than I expected. Months after the job was completed James helped me solve a problem that I had from earlier remodel work that had been done by another company and he did it at no charge. I also like the fact that his company has been in business here for many many years. James is a no pressure, under promise over deliver professional in every way and his crew is a reflection of his ethics.

Walked off the job which was punctuated by many stops and starts. I took him to court, Magisterial District 05-2-16, Pat A. Capolupo ,DistrictJudge on July 28, 2009. Judge Capolupo awarded me the sum of $512.50 which to this date remains unpaid! In fact, the defendent never even bothered to show up for the hearing. When I was questioned as to why I paid upfront my answer was / is, he is a neighbor!

The roof seems to be working well so far. The owner is a delightful man and a real family man in community. All of the workers are excellent. After two bad experiences with other companies, I am very pleased. It was a very experience!

It took about 3 days and would have taken less if it hadn't rained one of the days. The workers were friendly and professional, even helping a neighbor catch a runaway dog. We have not had any issues with the work and highly recommend James Taylor Roofing. Everything went very smoothly.

I had received the lowest bid from them but later it went up to over $9000 by my choice. I'm so thrilled that they did such a good job. My roof looks beautiful and my neighbor across the street is getting a new roof done soon after watching it. I believe that most of the houses around were built around the same time and so it's time now for everyone to get a new roof. They were very good and very attentive. My husband investigated a lot and did research and had thousand questions practically but Mr. Ray who runs the business was wonderful as he had called my husband several times with the answers for the different queries that he had. My husband just didn't pick him for his lowest bid but mainly for the way he handle themselves and what he did. He came along with his crew and was here while the work was being done. His estimate was right on but it went up because my husband wanted to get some special gutter made as they were very old and clogged up. He came and completed that job in just two days. They have done a superior work on a good price.

The owner was present on site while work was being performed; all business was done through him; found him to be willing to please, affable; responded quickly to phone messages; work was performed efficiently and timely; honored my requested days of work; hard-working efficient crew; left site clean as he found it; overall excellent experience.
