Overall experience was excellent! This is a new home (6 years) which began to develop moldy areas on interior walls and ceilings. After several contractors, hundreds of dollars, and no improvement in the problem, I was the one who discovered that the original builder had not used house wrap over various areas of plywood sheeting or flashing around windows. I had no choice but to hire a contractor to remove ALL siding from a two story house and attached garage; make repairs to exterior plywood walls, which had begun to rot from water damage; install house wrap and flashing around all windows and doors. This job was very hard to obtain quotes on, as no one really knew how much damage we would find once siding was removed. Dale bid this job as if for siding only and we agreed on an hourly fee which would be charged for time spent on repairs, if necessary. Dale and his assistant arrived every day on time, never took breaks despite 90 degree weather on some days, cleaned up their work area daily, and were very pleasant to have around. They did not play loud music or smoke, both of which I find to be major distractions when contractors have worked at my house in the past. Dale actually was hired after the contractor who started this job suddenly canceled and refused to complete the work which was to have been done 3/08. I am a serious gardener and by 7/08 when Dale was able to fit me in I had numerous flower beds/trellises/ and bees in abundance all around the house he was to be installing scaffolding on and removing siding from. I assured him I would cut all flowers down if needed as saving a home from serious water rot must be a higher priority than possibly permanently losing my perennials. Dale not only did not have me cut my flowers but worked around everything, including laying 2 to 10 foot clematises down onto the ground while still attached to trellises and never breaking even one stem! I have had numerous horrible experiences with rude and careless contractors in the past and Dale's kindness and respect for my property has renewed my faith in this industry as a whole (although I would never use another contractor again, I am keeping Dale on speed dial!).
