They arrived when scheduled and worked efficiently to complete the staircase.  I was happy with the results and as I was staining the new cupola prior to installation, I decided that the gazebo roof could use a powerwash and stain job as well.  Even though this was not part of the original job estimate, they were willing to add it to their schedule and I really appreciated that I did not have to go up onto the gazebo roof to do it!  They also brought me several buckets of soil to help me finish the landscaping around the new staircase.  I would recommend that you hire the Peck Contracting team for your deck projects.

We initially called Ken Peck on the recommendation of a family friend, after getting very different quotes on the same proposed deck installation from Lowes, and several other independent contractors.
It initially took a couple of calls/messages to Ken before we got a response back, but then we were attempting to get a deck installed in the busiest season for that type of work. Cautiously, we kind of took that first interaction as how the rest of our dealings with Ken might be.
We couldn't have been more incorrect. On my fourth (and what could have been my last) attempt to contact Ken - on a Saturday morning - I got through to Ken by phone, who apologized for not responding in a more timely manner, and said he was simply just that busy at the time and hadn't had a chance to respond. He said he had gotten the previous messages, and would be more than happy to come over for the initial estimate first thing the next morning - on a Sunday!!
Ken arrived promptly the next morning, and from the first moments of talking to him - we were impressed with both his knowledge and professionalism.
We explained what we were looking to accomplish, and gave him a copy the drawings we had made up for the prior estimates. He pointed some specifics out for our particular situation, noted some details we might want to consider to add, and others that we might want to forgo - and at the end of the meeting said he'd get back within 2 days.
Two days later, we had a thorough quote, answers to our questions and an estimated start and completion date. We asked about samples of the materials we were interested in, and the next day he dropped them off at the house for our inspection.
After answering a couple more questions over the next few days via email concerning permits and specific decking materials, we committed to a contract and agreed on a start date.
Ken was on time, on site and on schedule for every step of the project - and this was with the weather completely not co-operating! He was here to meet with the inspector each step of the process where it was needed, and was available to answer any questions we had.
Aside from overseeing each step along the way, and with the help of his qualified, capable assistant, Ken installed our deck personally. The deck was finished exactly on schedule, and at the agreed contracted cost. They cleaned up each step of the way, and when they were done, and we were left with a wonderful completed project!
When all was said and done, we have a phenomenal deck that far exceeds all of our expectations, and at a cost that was significantly lower than even the nearest competitor.
Ken's workmanship is more that of a craftsman than a contractor, and we would not hesitate to call on him again.

Ken was very responsive after our first phone call. He came out and we had an estimate for the work within two days. We compared the prices with three other contractors and he was very reasonable. He started work when he said he would and completed within less than a week. Excellent workmanship. He followed all township reqirements and acquired all permits for the job.
