The sewer was backed up and I called a different sewer cleaning company and they said it was blocked near the sidewalk. Then I called White's Contracting and he said it had probably collapsed from old age. He started to dig the pipe up, later in the day he said he had it all done except for one minor detail and he would come back tomorrow to finish up. He told me it would be the 900 he had quoted me plus an extra 465 dollars for other parts and materials. I sent him the extra money via Paypal. The next morning I got a note from Paypal requesting 465 dollars. I clicked on the button and he ended up getting a double payment for the extra fees. I made two or three phone calls to him and sent a written request to Paypal to get a refund. I eventually entered a dispute with Paypal and got both transactions refunded. A few days later I went out to take a look at the work that was done and there was water backed up in the clean out that he had installed meaning there was still a blockage. I gave him two opportunities to correct this again and he did not respond either time. I then had another crew come out and dig up the line all the way to the curb and we found White's had only replaced half of the pipe. When we got to the curb we found that the pipe was indeed crushed right next to some new gas lines meaning the gas company had probably accidentally crushed them. They were happy to come out and fix the damage they had done but i'm still out 900 dollars I paid to Whites's.
Description of Work: He was supposed to replace approximately 15 feet of sewer line from the house to the curb.
