Mr. Wyatt never visited my house; he never verified that there was prescriptive wall bracing; he never had building plans for my house; and, he never inspected the walls under the house exterior siding; in fact the only data that Mr. Wyatt used as the basis for his sealed letter was the attached picture with a 3/5" opening, Additionally, in June 2012, Fairfax County Office of Code Compliane, performed a field inspection of my house that proved Mr. Wyatt's assumptions were false and that there was a misrepresentation of the documentation presented during the permit application (see attached documents: FFX County Corrective Work Order; Mr. Wyatt's sealed letter; picture of 3/5" opening upon which Mr. Wyatt based his assumptions). As a result of the June 2012 inspection, my house now has 10 Code Violations and the estimate to make me whole is $381,000.
Description of Work: Mr. Robert Wyatt, a licensed structural engineer (SE) was hired to conduct a structural engineering inspection for a contractor who performed work at my house to determine if my house met Virginia Code for structural integrity. As a result of Mr. Wyatt's inability to assess that my house met the State of Virginia Residential Building Code requirements, my house now has 10 cited Code Violations from Fairfax County. Given the serious nature of the Fairfax County code violations, one is forced to assume that Mr. Wyatt's only objective in the production of his sealed letter was to insure he minimized risk to the contractor who hired him rather than be forthright about the true structural issues at my house that resulted from the contractor's work. PLEASE NOTE: 8/27/12 This company continues to change addresses. The letterhead dated 8/21/12 reflects the following address: 309 Century Oak Avenue Oxford, PA 19363 In checking Google maps, I cannot find a Century Oak Avenue.
