On August 25th Mr. Ainscough and crew poured the concrete pool border, failing to properly agitate the concrete as well as failing to properly rub the inside edge of the border. This resulted in a failed concrete pour, with chunks of concrete missing around the inside edge, as well as numerous places where the rusty steel reinforcement was exposed on the inside edge. I have pictures of the work, which Mr. Aisncough claimed was "normal" and part of his "process". Multiple independent professional opinions stated that the concrete work was unacceptable and the structual integrity of the concrete had been jeopardized. I engaged another concrete company to remove (jackhammer) the sub-par concrete that Mr. Ainscough installed at a cost of $2,500. Therefore, I am respectfully requesting recompense of $8,000 for monies spent to date on faulty work performed by Mr. Ainscough.
Description of Work: I engaged D&E Custom Concrete via David Ainscough (owner), to install a concrete pool deck, including a 20" concrete pool border around three sides of a 16' x 34' in-ground swimming pool. The pool was being installed around the same time, having already been excavated and steel-framed. I had started communicating with Mr. Ainscough around mid-July informing him that I would need the concrete work done the week of August 15th. The concrete border needed to be installed before the pool company could install the liner and perform all remaining work. I paid in good faith $5,500 to Mr. Aisncough prior to any work being performed.
