In June 2011 I purchased a new HVAC system consisting of a heat pump and furnace. The overall job went ok. It took about a week for the furnace to come in (after paying over 50%) and another week before the install. I really had no issue at the time. A year later my neighborhood experienced a power surge which fried my new HVAC system. My insurance was covering the replacement, since only a year old, I called Altieri again. As I recall it took a few days for them to come to look at the system and then once again required a payment for them to even order the system. This second time, Altieri?s was much slower getting completed than my first time. Finally it was installed and was well into June 2012. I ran my air condition with no issues all summer. Then fall came and I wanted heat. I found that when the heat was on the heat pump sounded like an airplane. It was so loud my neighbors made mention to me. I called Altieri and left a message. Then again called and left a message. Called again, thought I got lucky when Mrs. answered and assured me that Mr. would return my call. Days go by..nothing. I call again and leave message on voicemail ...no response?17 documented messages across a 3 week period and never a call back. I know this is under warranty..why would he not call? I knew by this time they knew my phone number and my work phone they were just not picking up my calls. I then called Goodman the HVAC manufacturer. The very nice woman there listened to my problem and was empathetic to my situation. She offered to call and see what she could do since they distribute Goodman and that is not the kind of service they look for in a distributor. The Goodman Rep talked with Mrs. who then assured her that I would be called. We thought at last a solution. Unfortunately NOT. I never got my call and after one more message to Altieri, they won. I called another distributor who Goodman recommended . They came out and fixed several issues with the installation which was not under manufacturer?s warranty since it was an installation issue. Altieri?s was great at giving me the run around and the worst service I have ever experienced. I would be very leery of using Altieri Heating & Cooling.
