James McMullen Construction Company

Description of Work: We contracted provider to fabricate, construct and install a wrought iron fence in front of our historic Lafayette Square Park home. We signed the contract and provided down payment for materials on March 2, 2016. The contract job was guaranteed complete no later than March 19. James and his assistant set the fence posts (not custom gate posts) on March 14, 2016 and have not returned to the project site since. He has left two large holes in the ground in high traffic areas at the base of our main entry steps and the city sidewalk which are potential safety hazards. He has also left three large bags of concrete (at least one of which is ripped and has spilled into the yard) as well as some other personally owned equipment. Multiple phone calls to James have been unsuccessful and the only successful means of communication with James has been through several text messages. He has (on seven different occasions) promised via text message to be on the site the next day to set gate pots, cut off fence posts to make them the same height and perform other preparations prior to welding fence panels and gate in place.
