This chair is now as solid as it could ever have been. Roy reworked all of the loose joints, repaired two broken pieces in a manner that even a diligent observer would have a hard time finding and then pinned the joints so that they would not come loose for another 65 years. He does all of the work himself and is extremely knowledgeable on furniture repair. He finished the repair in about 3 months and claimed to have spent less than 4 hours on it. With the work he did, I suspect it was more time but I think that it is his way of providing good value for very good craftsmanship.

Mr. Lindstrom returned my initial call promptly and discussed how he would handle the job. We took the pieces to his shop, about an hour from our house, talked to him about how he would do the repair. It's a small shop, he seems to be the sole employee, and he's busy. But he's very good at his work, has much experience, and I felt confident leaving the pieces with him. It took him about twice as long as we'd anticipated, but we just picked them up and he did an amazing job. The cost was considerably less than I'd expected. I would definitely recommend this business as long as you aren't in a hurry to get the work done.

Roy did an excellent job and did it quite quickly. I dropped them off Friday a week and he had them ready for me for pick-up yesterday (Sunday). Roy then spent about an hour telling me how to go about taking the chairs apart and regluing the joints. He is very concerned that his customers get the best from his work, whether doing the complete job himself or only "assisting" in a DIY project. I would not hesitate to have Roy do another project.

Roy was very professional and is clearly a master at his craft. My furniture set looks great. I know where the damage was and after he fixed it, I cant even tell. He took the time to do it right and you can tell he takes a lot of pride in his work. He is also very personable and easy to work with. Highly recommend.

Had a 100 year old sideboard with lots of carvings that was falling apart and the finish was shot. The top had a crack across the whole thing and had lots of rings from drinks, etc. The lining of the silverware drawer was shredded and the separating boards were loose. The legs had missing brass covers on the bottom and the legs fell off when the sideboard was lifted. The finish had darkened and was dirty.

Lindstrom's stopped by about 13 months prior to it's being finished and took it back to their shop. Later in the month I visited his shop and he explained all about the sideboard - year it was made, wood, etc. Then he went over what he would have to do. It was a long list. I told him I needed it in a year.

When I got it back, I couldn't believe the difference. You would never guess that there was a crack across the top. He had made two extra brass fittings for the ones that were missing on the back legs. The finish was spectacular, no longer dark and the mahogony just glowed.

He told me he hadn't charged enough for the work but stuck to his agreement.

He forgot to bring the kep to the piece when he delivered it, but I know I will get it back at some point.
The only critique was that the replaced lining of the silver drawer was pieced, not smooth and in felt, not velvet. It looked like they took felt they had and layered it.The craftsman is an artist with unique knowledge of antiques so I give him extra time to do the work. It was worth it.

We took two pieces of furniture to their shop. Roy examined the pieces, and evaluated what needed to be repaired/replaced in conjunction with the refinishing. He presented us with a written estimate and we signed off on work to be done. Our only cautionary note is that they are very busy - and work can take a few months to be completed. However, Roy warned us of this in advance - so work was completed in timeframe we expected.
