The initial visit to the store and home consultation was great. They were very helpful and knowledgeable. They even took us to the homes/offices where flooring we were considering was installed so that we could see their work and how the flooring looked in the real world. We were excited to work with them. The main issues: upon the delivery of the wood, the deliverer did not check the lots on the boxes to make sure everything matched. The installers also did not check the boxes before beginning the job. It was two days into the job before it was noticed that three boxes sent from the warehouse were a different lot and did not match the rest of what was installed. Whose job is it to check these things and make sure all the supplies are correct before beginning a job? So they had to stop the job, leaving 5% of it unfinished for about 4 days while we waited for the right boxes to arrive. When it did arrive, we only received two boxes but they took away three (we still do not have the third box, even after asking and paying for it). It also took a while (at least another week) to get the transition trim installed because what we had decided on was not going to work (that wasn't really their fault, just how it worked out with the way the floor was angled). I asked questions about the warranty on the wood and never got a definitive answer. I think the thing that has bothered us the most has been no customer service follow-up after the installation. We have an entire home that we want to re-floor over the next few years. We received no call or email a month or so after installation to check their work and see how the floor is doing. We did not even get a 'thank you for your business' card in the mail. We tried to be patient even after all the installation issues, I do not think we were pain-in-the-a** customers. Yet we have heard NOTHING from the company in the 6 months since the floor was installed. They did such a great job with customer service before the sale but really failed big time after they got the last payment in the mail.
"The wood that came incorrectly was at the bottom of the skid and unfortunately was not noticed when taken to project to acclimate. We did however rush new material to complete project. We also spent extra time and efforts to accomodate the transition issues. We did not follow up with a phone call because when we left the project all issues had been resolved. Please be assured Fluss Flooring appreciates all customers and their business."
"In response to this unfortunately unhappy customer I would like to defend my Company. Regarding the time in which the project was completed: Fluss Flooring fortunately has maintained a steady workflow even in this economic downturn due to its integrity and work performance. That being said, when the job was contracted the installation was scheduled for 6 weeks out. This did not change from the initial time of contract. In responose to the charge for removing furniture. The customer was made aware prior to the installation of her project there would be a charge if the furniture was not moved. She had indicated that the area would be cleared of furniture prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, when moving furniture it is not just a time defecit it is also a liability that we take on. I'm sure had we marked a wall or broken a piece of her furniture Fluss Flooring would have been held accountable, as we should. Due to our liability we can not move furniture for no charge."
