It was for the purchasing of the home. He went through and looked at everything about the house. He made sure that everything that we needed to know about. Things like the roof and made sure that drainage was good. He basically, told us that the house was in good shape. We had used him before and we have had several home inspections. He's a nice guy and he does a thorough report. He sends an electronic report and got it to us quickly. He will take me through the house and show me what the issues are and explains what might need to be done and how much it will cost. He's very helpful and it's nice to get a better understanding of what we are dealing with. I would use him again.

Since my husband and I were first time home buyers we were slightly naive about the home buying experience. Thats why you hire a home inspector though-to make sure that you aren't making a bad investment. Well our home inspector was terrible & we bought the money pit. Two months after we moved in we had to replace the sewage line. That cost us about $1800. Next we find that there was termite damage in the attic that was so bad that you can pretty much put your hand through the wood to touch the siding on the outside wall. The home inspector never even told us about the damage in the attic. He told us about "old" damage in the basement that he showed to us. But he said it was nothing to worry about. Really, the home inspector should have recommended that we make the current home owners pay to have the house treated for termites before we buy. Next we find a horrible carpenter ant infestation all over our deck on the back of our house & on both porches in the front of the house. The damage is significant enough that it is clear it has been going on for a long time. We need to replace most of the wood on the deck. We first noticed the problem with the ants a couple of months after we moved in. I don't even want to think about how much we spent on pest removal since moving into this house! The latest occurrence is a leaky roof that takes up the whole portion of a bump out! As I said above, it will be 3 years this May that we have been in this house. It is ridiculous that we have had this many incidents since moving in here. Lastly, about 6 windows in the house have broken seals that look awful. We have bought the money pit! It really is a unique and beautiful home but if we new this many repairs needed to be done we would not of offered what we did on the house or possibly even bought it at all. Please, please, take my advice and do not book this home inspector! He is very nice & says he loves to work with first time home buyers. Now I know why. I am going to do whatever I can to make sure he does not do this again to future home buyers.
