After using a north hills company to install my in-ground pool (I live in south hills) and having them abandon me when it came to troubleshooting or basic pool maintenance, I started using Pool and Spa Outlet.

Although they did not install my pool, they have always treated me like I was a valued customer and have gone above and beyond to provide superior service. I use Pool and Spa to have my water tested (free of charge) weekly. They are not providing that service to be able to sell products that you don't need! Many, many times, they have let me know that my water balance is perfect and no products were needed.They also provide my pool opening and closing services, which are efficient. In addition, being a first time pool owner, I have dozens of questions that they patiently answer. They have sent employees out quickly to deal with emergencies I have had and the owner worked tirelessly a few seasons ago to help me with a heater warranty issue that I was unable to resolve on my own! They are incredibly responsive and knowledgeable. I wouldn't use any other pool company :)

Excellent but the installers ran late.

The bobcat scheduled to come a few days before the install and arrived punctually. He did an excellent job for the large space he needed to excavate, plus the awkward navigation, and even spread the dirt out so that we didn't have a large pile of dirt to contend with afterwards. The pricing for the dig was more than fair - and the dig cost was one of our biggest concerns since we live on a hill. I wish I had THAT guy's number for other work!
The installation was great, but I do have to say I was frustrated with how long it took the installers to arrive. Two guys finally arrived around 6pm (were to be there at around 2pm) and were just finishing up at dusk with the water truck ready to go - around 9pm we were filling. But all in all, it was completed on the day it was scheduled for.
We have had no problems with our pool or filter. We did not feel that we were upsold on anything - we chose the sand filter and I actually wish we would have gone with a filter so we wouldn't have to backflush, and were pleased with the extras that came with it to get you up and running. In fact - our ladder for our steps did not arrive in time, and they kindly provided us a loaner until it arrived (or we wouldn't have been able to use the pool).
We would definitely go there again if we moved to a house without a pool, or ever need a replacement. Pricing and service in the shop are great. I also purchase some of our chemicals there. They are always cheery and helpful.

Spent alot of money with Pool and Spa Outlet. They installed a spa incorreclly and didn't want to correct it because it would have turned the job upsidedown and the job would have been a loss.

DID NOT FOLLOW UP WITH SATISFACTION OF INSTALLATION

They have their own full time installers. They called to arrange a good time to dig up our yard for the pool and them came back to do the installation. They worked a long day and got it installed in just one day. They also called the water company to arrange for the water delivery. They handled all aspects of the installation. This saved me a lot of time and frustration of finding my own contractor.

We recently purchased an in-ground pool from this company and have spent roughly $36,000 on it. They came and opened my pool within the week of calling. The service was prompt, but not professional. Technicians are young and seem somewhat careless. The owner of the company is the selling point.
