I asked how much for oil change. He said $25. When I picked up the mower I found out the price didn't include oil or disposal of old oil. He charged me $40 to change oil for a lawn mower. I've paid less to get oil changed for my truck. I bought the mower from him and this is how he treats you over $15.

I had my mower repaired/overhauled at the beginning of the season. They did a great job with the repairs, the price was reasonable for the amount of work that was done on the mower, and the staff is very kind and friendly.

When the mower was dropped off, I stated twice that I had just performed a complete annual maintenance on the mower including plug, oil filter, oil, fuel filter, air filter, etc. and that all I needed to be performed was the governor replaced.  When I hadn't heard from them on an estimate for the services, I called them and was told that the mower was ready to be picked up and the bill would be almost $700 including new blades, and all fluids, plugs, filters, etc., which was quite surprising since I had never been given and estimate nor approved the repairs.  He refused to return the mower unless I paid the bill in full stating that I would need to take him to court.  I explained that the mower actually belonged to my brother who had just returned from his fifth tour of duty in Iraq/Afghanistan with the army, and I was merely getting it repaired for him.  He responded "I don't care, that's not my problem."  I was speechless.  The charges for the unauthorized and unnecessary work was almost $300.  The only way I could get him to move at all on the price was to complete the paperwork for to sue him in small claims court and threaten to file it.  He then agreed to take $100 off the bill.  I would buy a new lawnmower before I let them touch another one of mine.  NEVER use them.

I had never dealt with them in the past but when I went to these people and told them I had a problem, they told me they'd be here the next day to pick it up. They were here the next day to pick it up and it was back in a week. My local John Deere dealer had told me they couldn't pick it up for two weeks. Crossroads was great. It was a great experience dealing with those people. They're not a John Deere dealership but I wouldn't hesitate to take my John Deere equipment to them because the work they did apparently got me through the summer. I haven't had any problems with it.
