Joe was out with one of his men and suggested the way to cure my problem, and then gave me an estimate for the job. I liked the estimate and I like how honest they were about the situation. He said he would work us into his schedule in the next two weeks. Two days later my wife called me at work and said they were up on the roof working with a full crew, and swarming like bees. There was a couple of days of heavy rains forecasted and he got there early to save us the mess. The job was done in a workmanlike manner, and no one would have ever known that they were there, the site was that clean.
He got there too quickly for me to ask him about a small job on the vents on the main roof, so when I sent the check for my sun porch, I added a note to call about the extra job. The next day, three men arrived and did the job. showing me the worn out shields, and shingles. He charged me reasonably, but never hesitated to come do the job.

We had used Spanglers Mill General Contracting for routine gutter cleaning and minor roof maintenance and repairs for several years. When a huge oak tree fell on our roof during the May 26, 2011 storm, we called owner Joe Horchler immediately. He was very responsive, and within 5 minutes of the tree being removed from the roof, he and his crew were making our house water-tight prior to the next round of rain and storms. At that time we asked him to do a temporary repair, because our house was nearly due for new shingles. He gave us the best estimate for reshingling the entire house and garage roof (the $7865 listed in this review), and we were glad to have his company do the job. He and his crew did a beautiful job on the new roofing, including some challenging areas, and handled it in a timely and professional manner. Joe has been exceptionally responsive to any concern we have had over the years we have used his company.
We have subsequently used Spanglers Mill General Contracting at our church. There, they resolved what had previously been chronic roof leak problems. We recommend them highly.
