Faucets, Fixtures and Pipes - Repair or Replace

Pronto really did live up to their name. I called to request a non-emergency repair and they arrived in less than 1 hour. Tommy was very clear on what the project and gave us an estimate right away. He did an excellent job and completed it in less than 3 hours.

On May 9th 2024 I called about my toilet since they were the ones that originally put it in. The toilet wasn't flushing correctly. Anyway, the plumber said it needed a new cartridge. Almost 250 dollars and about 10 minutes work later, it was supposedly fixed. Jump forward to July, just two months later and that same toilet is doing the same thing. How convenient that their warranty is only 30 days. I am not happy with their service and especially their cost. You would think a cartridge would last at least a year.

We called Pronto to assess our water heater in January. The technician, Jesse West, came out to our house on January 11 and told us we would need a new one. He showed me the figures for one with a tank - about $6300, and a tankless one - about $7400. Jesse told me I could receive a rebate for the tankless water heater from the gas company. I asked how much and was told about $1400. I said that the tankless water heater would actually cost us less than one with a tank. My husband came into the room and I repeated what Jesse said and he responded in like fashion that we would actually end up spending less for the tankless one. Flash forward four weeks and I received a check for $400 not $1400. I called in to complain and had to repeatedly call to get a response from Jesse's manager, Bobby. When Bobby called I repeated the events surrounding choosing the water heater and he said it was all heresay and there was nothing he was willing to do. I told him he should teach his workers not to tell customers the amount of the rebate and that they should tell customers to research it for themselves before making a decision. He just kept repeating that there was nothing in writing and that I could always get a tax break next year for installing a high efficiency water heater. I repeated that he should tell his men not to tell people the rebate amount. He insisted that some gas companies gave as much as $1400, which is a lie because according to the pa.gov site rebates range from$250 - $500. He then basically called me a LIAR for stating that Jesse told me $1400 because he, Bobby, wasn't present for the conversation. That was the last straw. Remember to get everything in writing with these companies because they will lie to you to get your business.

I contacted Pronto Plumbing , 1111 Primrose Ave, Camp Hill, PA in Sept 2021 for a clogged toilet. Raw sewage was coming up through my bathroom shower. They inspected the PVC pipes in the basement and said that a permanent sealant was used at the end of a pipe that is used to release the brown water to clear the clog (Pronto said that this is very rare - that should have been a red flag to me). They gave me a quote of $2700 which seemed high but being an older woman, I had no idea and felt I was in a desperate situation with raw sewage in my shower. They came in two days (they wanted to change it to 5 days and I said no). There were no pipes leaking in the basement. I brought the subject up at our June 2022 HOA meeting for our condo units. There are 300 units in my development, all used a reputable plumbing company. None of the units had any knowledge of a permanent sealant that had “supposedly” been used . Our units were built in 2000 by a reputable builder. Very overpriced and asking for some compensation - after 3 weeks, I have not heard back from them. They also advertise a senior discount that i did not get.

They do good work IF you really need the work done. This was my second time using them; I' d called them previously same problem, different location clogged main line. Then, as now, they said we needed to have my drain lines replaced in the basement laundry room area. Because we wanted to install a shower in that area anyway we agreed to replace the pipes at a cost of $8,000. A year later we again have a clogged main line. They come and unclog the line and say we have a crack in the pipe this time in the garage and we should replace them sooner or later at a cost of $12,000. This time we got a second opinion. We asked them for the video they took that showed we had a cracked drain line, showed it to another plumbing company; they said they did not see a crack in the drain lines but that the the were not completely cleaned and needed a jet wash. The plumbers came, thoroughly cleaned the drains that needed to be replaced and took another video showing the clean UN-CRACKED drains. I saw another review where Pronto Plumber had done the same thing to them and when they got a second opinion they saved thousands of dollars. They do good work IF you really need it.

They did an excellent job on my sewer line both inside and out. I did call them back a few days later due to a very small drip at the end of the line and they were there within the hour and fixed it. They also helped me with my toilet, which I thought was generous and kind since they did not charge me for it.

Pronto contacted me within minutes of being on Angie's List and we set up appointment for Monday morning. Kevin showed up, evaluated the problem and laid out some alternatives, including cost. Before proceeding, we tried using water flow downstream from clog to pull it through. This worked great and with no need to pull toilet or use expensive means.

Originally had them out for an emergency leak in a recently purchased home. They were the only plumbers that were available. Their emergency and after hour service is wonderful. In addition, the techs are knowledgeable and assessed the situation on the spot. We needed a complete overhaul of a very poorly plumbed bath addition that was put in by the seller and they were able to get it done in our timeframe. Very pleased. Thank you, Lee and team!

I experienced negligence and mistrust that with Pronto/ Secco Home Services. Please see below my explanation. I called Pronto plumbing/ Secco Home Services because I had a little clog in my toilet and they were offering a main drain cleanout for $99.00, but Pronto sent out one of their employees named John S. to examine. The John S. stated that I would need hydro jet cleaning on my sewer line and it will be $559.00, not the $99.00 guaranteed promise of main drain cleanout. My wife and I asked if this was really necessary and the employee of Pronto stated that when he is done he will have my main sewer drain shiny, sparkling clean and looking like a brand new pipe. I asked again are you sure? John S. replied "Yes". I paid the $559.00 and he stated that he will need to come back the next day to Hydro jet because he didn't have the equipment. The next day John S. arrived with Shaun Stokes Drain Service Manager. They started to Hydro jet, but was getting frustrated because they could not unclog the drain and Shaun even stated to John S. the drain is freaking worse of a clog than before and resorted to ballooning my shower to unclog the toilet, but I can still see it was clogged. They could not hydro jet all the way out to the street as promised and I explained to Shaun that the John S. stated that he would clean out all the way to the street and my drain will be shiny and sparkling like a new pipe. Shaun stated that John S. should have never promised us because no pipe can be like that, even after hydro jet cleaning. Shaun stated that the John S. used poor choice of words. My wife and I were upset at the situation and explained that the toilet was still not unclogged because it was flushing slow, but Shaun stated it was unclogged. I was still hesitant that the drain was not clear. Shaun and John S. left, but then the next day my toilet was really clogged. I called Pronto and spoke to the reception, then she stated that they could send a technician out and to call when my husband’s doctor’s appointment was done and they will send someone out. I called two hours later and the receptionist said she will have someone come out. I received a call a few minutes later from Jay at Pronto/ Secco Home Services and he stated that no one can come out today and it was Friday, so I would need to wait until Monday. I expressed my concerns that the clog got worse and the guys that were out the day before never unclogged the toilet originally and now it’s worse. Jay said he was sorry and will have someone come out on the following Monday. I told Jay I was scared because of the clog, but there was nothing he could do until Monday. The next day my whole basement that I had recently remodeled two months prior was flooded with sewer backed up from toilet and shower. I called Pronto Secco Home Services left a message and no one responded, then I had to hire another plumbing company to come out. They came out and unclogged my drain with a simple snake that Pronto never did originally. I had to call a cleaning company to dispose of the damage furniture and the cleaning company had to remove wood trim, brand new flooring, and doors affected by sewer crap. My basement looked like a war zone! A total devastation! On that following Monday I had to call Pronto and spoke to Jay and he stated he would have John Gribble call me. John called and stated he will come out by himself; instead Shaun arrived with another employee Kevin Dickey. I asked where the John Gribble Operations Manager was because he stated he will be out, but Shaun stated that he had an emergency. Shaun stated that he needed to take pics to send back to his Operations Manager John Gribble. Shaun had taken pics and then tried to deny things that were stated when he first came out, but then my wife and I were very upset when Shaun told Kevin Dickey when asked how long he hydro jetted? Shaun replied he hydro jetted for 5 hours, which Kevin stated to my wife and I when leaving that there is no way to hydro jet for 5 hours because he would run out of water. I explained to Kevin everything that happened and he said the Operations Manager John Gribble will definitely do something. The next day John Gribble called and made an appointment to come out to see the damage. John Gribble Operations Manager arrived and stated he needed to look at my drain for insurance purposes. I hesitantly allowed him because I was still upset of the neglect that I received on my drain. John Gribble stated that he is sorry for what happened to us and that the employee John S. should of never guaranteed that my drain will be shiny, sparkling clean like a brand new pipe. John Gribble stated that John S. will be fired and Shaun will be talked to. I advised him of the negligence of not unclogging my drain and false promises that I am now faced with a huge mess. John Gribble apologized again and I mentioned that Pronto charged me for a job they didn't complete. They promised the hydro jet and only hydro jetted a small portion, but John confirmed that when he took the camera in my drain he could see that the guys hydro jetted the wrong direction and only a few feet, not all the way to the street as promised and I was still charged the $559.00. John stated that he will refund our $559.00, since the job was not completed. I advised because of there negligence my sewer backed into my house and John agreed. John had taken pics and said he will call me the next day. I spoke to John the next day and he stated that he talked to the owner of the company and they will pay for the damage caused by them only if I will pay them $3400 to put a two way cleanout at the street because they think my drain needs that. I was so upset that I was having the owner of the company relay a message to me like that. It was like we will pay for your damages, but you need to pay for this, even I had another plumber advise it only needed a snake. I did not agree , then John said he will talk to the owner again. Finally John called and said the owner agreed to pay the cleaning company and for repair. He advised me to get quotes to send him. I received quotes, then John stated on a text message to send the quotes to a email address he provided. I sent the quote and the receipt that I paid for the professional clean out. John responded on the text he received the quotes and will get back to me, then I text and called a few days later. It seemed like John Gribble was avoiding my phone calls and text after I submitted the repair and cleaning bills. Finally John stated on a text that he will call me, but I waited and did not receive a call. I called Jay and he stated that John was on a job site and will call me, but I still did not receive a call back. John then texted and stated that he was going to review it with the owner who promised to pay for damage and repair, since there employees decline to do the job resulted in a sewer back up. I never received a call or text from John the Operations Manager; instead I received a letter that I should contact my homeowners insurance company to pay for everything. My wife and I were so upset of the lies, promises and now even though the damage resulted in their employees actions Pronto/SECCO Home Services wanted me to put a claim on my insurance and went back on their word to pay for damages and repair. Totally unfair and dishonest company. BEWARE!!!!

Beware of this company! I called them to repair a minor pipe leak in my basement. What I got was a refusal to repair the pipe and 3 different estimates to replace the old pipes ranging from $5,000 - $9000! I was shocked!! I told him all I wanted was for the leaking pipe to be repaired, and he refused. I paid $125 for him to put a temporary clamp on it and told him I'd think about the estimates. The next day I called JT Thomas Plumbing. He fixed it for $105. Thank you JT Thomas!! Shame on you, Pronto!!! I will spread the word on the crap you tried to pull on me!!

Plumber came within 15 minutes of my call as our landscaper dug too deep and broke about a four feet section. Plumber gave an accurate estimate and then left to retrieve a specialty tool and called me promptly when he ran a little late. Within a half hour of his arrival the section was repaired. I am deeply appreciative of the professionalism and quality of workmanship.

Every time we called them for work, they have been good. I can't say anything back. Sometimes they do not finish all the work, like we had a faucet that was dripping. Probably didn't catch his attention that we needed it done. They were ok. Not sure what the commodes would cost, they are the quick flush type, so I do not know the price. They did excellent work. He was quiet, and he explained everything that he was doing to my son and husband at that time. One man came out. It took a while to do all the work, about four hours. Because I am not giving you completely honest answers, I was not there. The cleanliness they left the area.

The plumber arrived the next day and was able to make an adaptor to the water source. It was then connected to the refrigerator. A 24 hour test for a leak was done and a very small leak was observed. The plumber arrived the next day and repaired the adaptor. It passed the 24 hour test and now it is good.

Awesome experience, I got an email that the technician (Tony) was on his way with a picture of him and his bio. He was professional and checked out my water heater. He stated the temperature just needed adjusted as the cities cold water in the winter takes more time to warm up. Yes their prices are a bit higher but your paying for a professional company that backs their products and service. Thank you Pronto. Angie list would not let me put $0 for price but it did not cost anything so I had to put $1

We called them because the second floor toilet and tub were braking down. The toilet was beautifully done. But the cold water valve was left running like a waterfall last night. I called at 7 in the morning and they advised I was on the list to get work done. I waited and tried calling three different times to find the location of the provider. At 2 pm he was still at a different job and I was told he would be on his way after that job. They have never called or showed up. Tommy Thomas (the plumber from yesterday) does good plumbing work, they could have scheduled him better. Since our faucet has been running all night and day, we should have been a priorty. The lady on the phone was not in hurry to get this work completed for us. We went ahead an cancelled our appointment and contacted a different company.
