Scott Martin Homes

Project started out fine, although we were told he would start in January but we didn't see him till the middle of February. And from what I understand with contractors, They were here a few days than off the rest of the week, then here then off. It was slow going. Martin's were not very pro active in telling us when they would be here. We hired a contractor, but found if we were not here 100% of the time they were here, something had to be ripped out and done again. Three major redo's which we got billed for, but the worst part for me, is that Scott Martin would not take responsibility for what went wrong, and he was never here to direct the three carpenters. There was a wall under a large picture window that was completely bowed because the carpenters cut the supports all the same length but the floor was an old garage floor and was sloped for drainage -- they never took out a level to make the wall straight, Instead there was a hump in the middle of the wall. S Martine said that was our fault!! Why should we expect to have a window sill to be straight!!!! We are still having trouble with our very expensive french patio door. It won't close right because it is not straight. We had someone else try to fix it, it is better but it will never be right. I am really mad about that. If you use these people, you have to be right there with your own level an tape measure, can't trust that the job will be done right.

Not well - major redo's that the contractor would not take responsibility for. A wall under a very large picture window had to be done over because it was not not straight - the workers cut all the support boards the same length and didn't allow for the floor being an old garage floor that had drainage. They didn't bother using a level to cut the boards to match the floor so it was straight. This is building 101 -- The builder would not admit that they screwed up, We should have told them the floor was not completely level!!! Thats just one of the redo's we had to pay for!!

Not good. Scott Martin sent his crew of three, who worked very hard and did what they were told, however, there was no direction at all. Three times we had to have things removed and redone. My front door is still not right. It wasn't installed correctly and Anderson representative came and said it had to be completely torn out and re-installed, it not only leans in it also leans to the side. Door will not close properly, it has to be forced to close
