Auto Sales
$52,000
We agreed to purchase a home for my mother from Riverview and signed all paperwork and put money down.  We were told by Barry Carle, a Riverview salesman, that it usually takes 3 to 4 weeks from the order being placed to the finished trailer placed on lot and ready to use, ''Sometimes as fast as 2 weeks'' he said.
But once they got her name on the dotted line, they didn't care what happened and lied to us repeatedly.  It would have been comical if my Mother's lease didn't run out, forcing her to spend 4 weeks in hotels/with family until Riverview finally delivered her house.  Had we known the nightmare Riverview would put us through we would never have dealt with them.
This is what we were told by Barry Carle at weekly intervals about the status of the home:
4 weeks after order was placed:  Things are backed up at the manufacturer, your house has not been started.
5 weeks:  Yours is next up on the list to be made.
6 weeks: Home is finally made, should be delivered next week.
7 weeks: Home didn't get delivered this week, should be delivered next week.
8 weeks:  Home just got delivered, the subcontractors we hired will arrive tomorrow or the next day to make the utility connections.
9 weeks:  We don't know why the subcontractors never showed up to make the utility connections, here is their phone number, call and ask them yourself.
10 weeks: Finally, 6 weeks after originally predicted, Riverview's subcontractors showed up and connected the utilities and gave us a usable trailer.  At this point my mother was already paying lot rent to the park and had been closed on her loan for 2 full weeks.
Details aside, the bottom line is that Riverview told us it would take 3-4 weeks just so they could make the sale and it actually took 10 weeks.
Riverview Homes is an awful company.
