Terribly! This company was assigned by my home warranty company, so I was stuck with them. Tried to schedule a before summer A/C tune up, they never showed. A/C broke on July 16th, today is September 3rd, it’s still no working properly, and they have stop returning my calls.

They called me to say they were too busy, that they’d call back later. Over a month went by and still silence from them. Upon a Google review from me the owner replied back in less than two hours to criticize my review. Extremely unprofessional and rude.

December 10th a technician came to my house to identify the furnace problem. As of December 28th they have still not called or responded. Terrible company I wouldn’t let them change a battery in my remote...

"I am sorry to hear that you feel that you have not received the service you deserve, but all of the official technician notes turned in to the company indicate that the job is complete. We are not responsible for the technician doing extra work or unauthorized work for you. Also, the phone works both ways, considering per the technician, the work was complete and the file was closed, we would have no need to call you. But, since you feel more works needs done, you can call the office and they would be happy to help you, which is something that has not been done. Have a great day. One last thing, we do not take work off of this site due to it being a scam. We only responded to this because we saw it. Other than that, we could not care less what gets put on here."

This company is part of a home warranty that was included with the purchase of my daughter and son in laws first home. The furnace didn’t work they placed a request for service this company sent a young man out who spent very little time at the house. Left the house without informing home owner what was going on. Service Express was contacted by home owner, they would either not answer and you couldn’t leave a voice mail, or they would hang up after picking up. A gentleman named John finally answered told home owner he had the part this is on Wednesday, but the won’t be out to fix the furnace until the following Monday. Holiday on Thursday and booked on Friday. My daughter pleaded with this man they had not had heat for two weeks at this point. I called HVAC Service Express as my daughter was in tears, I identified myself ask who I was speaking to he said John. I ask if there was anyway they could come sooner, that my family was worried with the temperature going into the 20’s that night. This man was so abusive to me, he said that they could just cancel the service call and keep the part. I told him he was extremely unprofessional and that I was going to contact someone to look into this company. He told me “you don’t like how I do business, F ___ You. This is a horrible man and terrible company. Don’t ever use them. I contacted a local heating company they came that night, went back to their shop got the part and had the furnace running in no time.

When I talked to the scheduler, I was told that there would be certain ancillary costs when the water heater was replaced. I questioned some of the costs - Why do I have to pay twice for the gas line reconnect (first time was a month earlier when they replaced the gas valve control)? Why do you think I need a new expansion tank, it was replaced a few months ago? Are you seriously charging $100 to take the T/P relief tube off the old tank and put it onto the new one? (It takes 30 seconds, equivalent to $12,000.00 /hour!) The answer was that these are discretionary charges and the technician would make the decision at the time of the installation. When I questioned the technician at the time of the installation, I was told something like 'This is what I was told to charge'. Clearly there is a communication gap and I end up with the bill! In addition, when I said that the expansion tank was relatively new and working well, I was told something like, 'We don’t want to have old and new parts together because something may go wrong'. This sounds like a made-up excuse. Besides, if the expansion tank should fail, another bill will be presented. Because the service was under a homeowner's warranty, I didn't have a choice in selecting a contractor. I also blame for homeowner's warranty company for the fact that it took four house calls to eventually agree to replacing the water heater. However, each trip had additional charges, eventually totaling more than $1000.00. The duplicated and inflated ancillary charges are on Service Express. For that they get a "Fail" rating.

"As a company we strive to provide top quality customer service and feel bad when a customer is not completely happy. At the same time, you are a home warranty customer and we MUST follow the rules and price guidelines set by YOUR home warranty company. As a company we went above and beyond to resolve your issue and were met with opposition by you every step of the way, we even performed your work after hours when we are in over time rates and we did not charge you over time even though over time is NOT authorized by your home warranty. We tried to explain to you that any issues with price would have to be taken up with the home warranty company. If you had cashed out your claim and contracted us to perform the work directly, we feel that you would have had a much better result. We do not make the rules for home warranty claims and can not control how much they cover or how much they make you pay. It would be an easier process if you didn't try to hold other people responsible for your issues."

Service Express and Stephen Harrell were top-notch professionals. They were up front, provided numerous options (a lower end unit, a middle-of-the-road unit and an upper end unit) to resolve our central air conditioning issue, arrived on time and did a great job over the span of two days installing a new central air unit and refrigerant lines. We went with the Trane 13 SEER central air unit. I HIGHLY recommend Service Express, Stephen Harrell and his crew!
