We had a new roof installed on our three-story house a few years ago, just before we rented in out, and unbeknownst to us, water damage was showing up on the top floor's ceiling that the tenants never mentioned to us. By the time we finally saw the damage for ourselves, it was quite extensive and we were fearful it was going to cost a small fortune to fix. Attempts to contact the former roofing contractor failed, as he was now (small wonder!) out of business. Fortunately, we were referred to this general contractor, Frank and quot;Chipand quot; Uhl, by our realtor and he got on the problem immediately. Turns out the original now-defunct roofer had not only installed the flashing improperly, he had also completely neglected to install key elements on the ridge. In any event, once Chip's crew got started, it was all done in a couple of days. Everything on the roof was fixed, the damaged woodwork all replaced, and the interior ceiling repaired and patched to look like new. Best of all, Chip was extremely pro-active with our insurance adjuster, who was fairly obstinate that the damage had all been due to the original defective workmanship, for which we were not covered. In the end, we were very happy with Chip's professionalism, expertise and attempts to save us money. We'd use him again in a heartbeat.
