as always Joe was fast and professional. I have been using reliable for a good many years now. Unlike other chimney services Joe has never tried to charge me for something that didn't repair. In fact just the opposite, A few years ago Joe told me about a product called a spit fire which is really a system of tubes and a blower which goes in the place place and you build your fire on top of this and the blower pushes the hot air out into your room. This product saved me hundreds in heating the house over the years. Joe did not try to sell me the product but told me where I could get the best price for it. He could have sold me the unit himself but saved me money instead. Joe also does other work such as plumbing, decks etc. If you want a quiality job from an honest guy you can't go wrong with Reliable chimney.

They showed up on time. They were professional. Cleanliness was just ok. I had very little furniture at the time so it was ok. Otherwise it would have been a problem. A they worked they kept saying how different things "had" to be done right away without mentioning price. Wound up that my discount for being local cost me a small fortune.

Joe "patched" the cracks in chimney. He had told us he would use white mortar, to match the existing brick- he did not.He used gray and painted it cream-looked terrible...we ordered a gelco custom cap..the cap he installed is not a gelco, nor is it a custom fit.(appears to be some cheap cap) there are gaps of over 2 inches which he tried to fill with spray foam insulation. We then paid to have the entire chimney waterproofed...2 days later we had rain- it poured into our fireplace as if no work was ever done!! The paint totally washwed off the gray mortar, as did the "waterproofing", since that was sprayed over the paint..After numerous calls to Joe over the course of several days (kept leaving messages he never reuturned), he came back and told us it was impossible that it leaked-we had pictures of puddles in fireplace. He put hose on the outside and water came pouring in.He said it was the flashing-redid that, but water still came in.He said he did"nt understand and would come back next week. We joined angie's list and had several other chimney people come out. They all agreed it still leaked, the cap was not a custom gelco, told us the entire back of hte chimney we could'nt see from the ground was never fixed.we were also advised the waterproofing was oversprayed over a large portion of the roof, and the shingles would have to be replaced... Since Joe refuses to return our money, or pay for the roof damge(estimates of $400), we are in the process of suing him.BEWARE OF THIS GUY!!

Our chimney hasn't been used for 10 years and was incredibly overgrown with vines. Joe approached the situation with humor, and was very fair and upfront with his pricing. He came on time and was very professional. He helped us remedy the issue with minimal expense. Would definately recommend him again.

He calls 2 wks later saying that he bought an insert and that the whole job would cost $3500 (minus the vents). My husband said that he only had $2900. My husband made an appt. for Joe to come the next day (Fri) to collect for the insert and to take measurements for the liner and to EXPLAIN. He told us he got a great deal on a stove (a floor model insert for $1360). This was an acceptable price for us, but 3 times when asked about the liner, he smoothly changed the subject. I did price searches on inserts but not on liners, so I had no idea of price other than his prof. est. of $1200. We were pressured into giving him the pymt for the liner and committing to the job. He left us with a recpt of downpymt ($2900) and the owner's manual for the stove. Later that wknd, checked on flue prices via internet and local stores. We found a store that Joe deals with, and their max. liner price is $800. Labor would then be $900 not $350. We called Mon to cancel and says he will sue us for breach of contract.
