First of all, Dan did all of the secondary stuff first. fixed the outside boards, handrail and a 4ft wide piece of tar paper for the garage. He wanted paid up front for materials so, I paid half $2500. There is less than $1000 of materials for sure in everything that he did. Bathroom looks horrible. You can still see the old pressboard that was there originally and the rest of the walls were painted over wall paper and wrinkled when it dried. Window and door frames were not touched and looks bad. He also completed the painting of the rooms and the "refinished" hardwood floors. Painted walls and ceilings look like a child did them.. I think it was 1 coat of stain on the floors and it doesn't even look like there was eurothane put on them. Aside from that, the kitchen and bedroom floors were not even touched and there was a hole in one of the walls that he just moved a bookshelf in front of to hide it. When Dan finally said that he was done the end of July the laundry room had still not been touched except for the dryer hookup which was done as part of the electrical project I had him do previously for $1000. Nothing had been painted, fixed or remodeled in any way. There isn't anything good to say about his work or "lack of". It is of poor quality and the sad part is that he thinks that he did a good job. For a month I kept hearing that all that he had to do was set the tub and he would do that tomorrow... He started in April and said that he would be done in June but, as of August, I still wasn't even sure that he was done. He never even asked what I thought of it and wanted to charge me more money to "finish" the job that he already quoted on and didn't. If he would have done even a half-decent job, I would have paid him more to finish the rest. He did concede to at least put a drain in laundry room but, when he did, he cracked the drain pipe that goes into the floor in the basement. I let him take a wood fired furnace that hooks into a water baseboard system as part of his payment in addition to what I paid him. He was sure to get that though.
