John B Ward & Co

We hired John B. Ward to prune two cherry trees and to cut down and remove a dead tree. They were very easy and pleasant to do business with. Gave us an estimate and then came out to do the work a few months later. They did a very good job removing the tree and pruning the other two trees in about half a day. They cleaned everything up very neatly. They were a very professional company and did great work. I would definitely use them again.

It went well overall but I think that we could have communicated a little better. Overall a good job. The willow oak work was good on two of the 3 trees but the team seemed to be a little rushed on the third tree so that one didn't get as much attention. One of the beds had a lot of trimming done to viburnums and the viburnums are taking longer than I expected to grow back in. They will get there, but it's just taking longer than I thought. Overall, a good job and I have hired John B Ward since this job, they are a good firm.

It went very well. I have hired Hugh Darlington of John B Ward several times and they do good work. They communicate well, always checking with me regarding what is to be done before cutting on a particular tree. And they are good collaborators, listening to my goal (increase sunlight to a particular evergreen tree) and suggesting additional cuts for no extra charge to help achieve that goal.

I was very impressed. Other than the trees gone you could not even tell they were there. All clippings and sawdust was completely removed. All pruned shrubs looked great and completed exactly as requested. The workers performing the work were extremely personable and professional. Will definitley be using this company again.

He's excellent.  He's experienced.  I think he really cares about the trees, and it's not just a matter of expertise and cutting down the dead branches and all, but I think it's really a personal passion for him to take care of trees.  It's not just a job.  I think he's really invested in it.  It's hard to describe what I mean, but that would be my main feeling about him.  Usually when you have tree work done it's pretty expensive, but they do quite a bit.  He gets way up in the tree.  One of the recent times, he put in another cable in between two high branches, and that's very difficult, expensive work.  I would say that the people that would have the strongest rating from me are Ward and two others.

We had previously used other firms that were much less professional and cost more. They have the tools, skills, and equipment to work very efficiently and in a very clean manner. They are very responsive coming over the day of the call or the next day to address our concerns. We recommend them highly!

I would give them an "A" and we would use them again. It's a continuous year-to-year type of thing.

Once again, Matt Ward and the people from John B. Ward & Co., did an excellent job. From the beginning, I needed to coordinate work on my front yard between tree removal and a landscape contractor. Not only was Matt most willing and cooperative in working with the landscaper; but, made every effort in a very busy schedule to make room in his schedule to accomodate the other work necessary. The work itself was done promptly and as agreed upon. Clean-up was done immaculately.  They have done work for us several times in the past and we have always been very satisfied.

Mr. Ward came out, gave us a quote to remove a large dead tree in the front yard, trim up a tree near the front door and trim up various other trees in our yard.  
On the day of service, he and his crew arrived on time and did the work.  They were cheerful, fast and did great work.  They were very receptive to our needs and desires, and cleaned everything up when they were done.  
I would definitely use them again.  Would highly recommend.

Everything went well.  They were very responsive.  They provided a good estimate of lead time.  It was an estimate of five weeks until they could work on our trees.  At about five weeks they contacted me to schedule a time for about a week ahead. They showed up just early of on-time and finished when they said they would. The work they performed was completely satisfactory.  It's been a wild winter so far and the trees are holding up fine.

They were very good. I would definitely recommend them. The man that I dealt with was very professional. He came over and he seemed to know a lot about trees. He even told me something about a tree that I was not even asking about and that was good because we are considering doing something with that tree now too.

The service turned out well. I thought they were reasonable priced and did a good job. They took two days and did everything they were supposed to do. I was really happy with their service.

Excellent service.  The arborist did not try to have us do unnecessary work, and the price was good compared to another estimate we had.  The team arrived on time and was quick, efficient, careful and neat.  Clean-up was excellent.  All involved were friendly and pleasant.

He is going to come back to finish and there is a lot of work.  I can't say enough good things about him.  He is wonderful.  He comes out right away.  He is just extremely knowledgeable.  He always comes in with a good price.  The work he does is unbelievable.  The work he does and the clean up, we can't ask for anything better.  He is honest and dependable.  He never recommends doing more work than needs to be done.  He is just such a good guy.

Their treatment certainly did the job!  Would certainly have used them for hand-pruning but my Homeowners Association landscaping service did the work for one third of the price.

The man in charge, Mr Ken LeRoy arrived at my house as promised several days before the job. He was on time, very pleasant and gave me a precise and complete estimate of the work necessary. He e-mailed me his quote in 48 hours and adjusted the cost as necessary.He made every effort to insure that unnecessary work was not done. I would recommend this company to anyone!

They were experts and very good.  I was concerned about a tree and I thought it has a disease.  They came in and treated it instead I don't have to worry about it. They said they could treat it easily. They could have lied and said that they needed a whole lot of work and it was not an easy work.  They took care of it and the tree looks fine now.
