From start to finish, everything went smoothly. The guys were helpful and cooperative with moving the furniture, which was a bit of challenge due to space constraints. They were understanding with the tricky logistics I was dealing with in regard to my two dogs. They worked within my time-frame limitations, and were flexible when we agreed to push back the kitchen floor installation one week. They did an excellent job of containing the dust and cleaning up after themselves every day, and went above and beyond putting my sleeper sofa back together, as it's construction is fairly complex. The kitchen floor crew finished in one day, rather than the projected two days -- which made my life much easier! My refinished floors and new kitchen floor look fantastic! I am extremely happy with the finished results and am already receiving compliments from friends. The guys worked hard, were professional and polite, and made two big projects much more bearable than I expected. In addition, communication with them, and especially the office manager, was tremendous. Prompt responses in every situation, not to mention friendly and courteous. The cost was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Walsh Hardwood Flooring!

We paid an extra $500 to have the floor leveled because there was one section that was significantly lower than the other and needed to be addressed before new hardwood flooring could be laid.
The next day the hardwood flooring was laid. When my husband and I came home from work, 1/2 of the floor had been installed. Upon inspection we noticed that there were several 'soft', squish and squeaky spots in the flooring. This indicated there were spots that were still not level. When I discussed this with Walsh and the person he had working with him they were rude and impatient saying 'fine' they would fix it. By fixing it they had to rip up flooring that had already been laid and install shims under the floor boards. When they did this they put in big ugly nails that weren't property covered.and sealed into the surrounding boards to make the fix happen. They also charged us for an extra box of flooring to fix the mistake they made.
When the floor was finally installed it was covered with cardboard to protect it as the kitchen was still under construction. When the kitchen was finally finished we noticed that there were still soft, squeaky spots in the floor. When we discussed this with Walsh they came out to take a look and finish the shoe molding but then they left without fixing the floor. When I called to follow up my phone call was never returned.
Overall we were given poor installation and poor customer service and I would not recommend Walsh.

It went perfectly.John Walsh did the work and we couldn't be happier.Since a hardwood floor takes a few days to finish,we went to visit relatives while they worked, giving the key to the house to John. After 3 days away ,we arrived home to BEAUTIFUL floor. And the next day they came back and put all the dining room furniture back for us and returned the key. They sealed off the dining room before they started so even though things got somewhat dusty,it was minimal. We would highly recommend Walsh Hardwood Flooring.Only thing I did not like...one of the guys used the upstairs toilet and left the toilet running! When we arrived home, the first thing I heard was that toilet running and who knows how long it had been running!

Ok. We just moved into a house where the previous owner let a cat pee all over the floor. It soaked through the carpet, padding, and even stained the original hardwood underneath. We had Walsh come out and they were here for about two minutes to give us an estimate. They said they could sand the stains out no problem. They said it would take about 3 days. They started the job on Monday and called the first day to say the stains would not come out. By that point the job was already half done (sanded but not stained) so I really had no choice but to have them finish. They put three samples down and came back the next day to ask me which one I wanted. The guy did warn me multiple times that whatever stain I chose would still not cover the spots. I realize that, but like I said it was already half done, what else was I supposed to do at that point? They did not do any work that day, I just picked a stain and he left. They started on a Monday and were originally supposed to finish Wednesday. Then they pushed it back a day or two, and finally pushed it back again to Saturday but said they would just come put one more coat on Saturday and be done. On Saturday we were waiting to go out of town and they never showed. We tried calling them several times, left messages, and got no answer or call back. We needed to know because we have a dog who needs to be caged if they are coming, and we didn't want to cage him needlessly as we had already done one time before. I didn't hear anything all weekend, they just never showed up. I got a text Monday morning at 6am saying they were coming to finish that day, and they did. I did not like having them be a no show with no call or call back all weekend, but I guess at least he did let me know before I left for work Monday that he was coming so I could take care of the dog. I am not attributing the stains not coming up to being their fault. I have no way of knowing if they should have been able to tell that from the quote or not. I can't help but wonder if, had they spent more than two minutes surveying the job, would they have had a better idea? Anyway, I really am not blaming them for that. They finished the job and it looks nice considering stains that were not their fault. The worker really did make sure I was aware that the stains would still be visible at the end. I am pleased with their work, I just would appreciate more promptness with showing up and answering/returning phone calls. I would probably use them again for the rest of the house so that the floors would match, I would just know better than to expect promptness.

They did a nice job. We would use them again in the future; in fact, we actually are trying to use them now on something else.

The Walsh Brothers are professionalism at its best! The work was completed within weeks of the initial estimate and they were flexible as our construction schedule changed almost daily. In addition, the floors came out looking like new! They were also very responsive to my calls and inquiries and were always available to answer my questions. I have recommended Walsh Hardwood Flooring to my mother, sister-in-law and a neighbor.

We had moved all of our furniture into the one unfinished room so the rest of the house could be done. Walsh just left us hanging, claiming their estimate was too low and that they couldn't complete the work for what they quoted ($3000). They would not refund any of the already paid $2500 either.
