an Our remodeling project started in August, 2014 and finished, with the exception of a few minor fixes, in late November. Gregg Clarke and his assistant, Glenn, were terrific. He first tackled installing new interior doors. All 10 doors plus closet doors were replaced in the house. He then began work on the bathrooms. After gutting each bathroom he found plumbing problems which accounted for the slow drains we've experienced for years. He also found that the fans only vented into the attic and never vented outside. He corrected each problem as he encountered them. In remodeling the bathrooms he repaired all the drain issues, replaced subflooring which had been rotting due to leaks and repaired a support beam which also had been damaged by leaks. He installed all new tile, both on the floor and walls, new fixtures and sinks, toilets, tub and shower stall. Glenn sanded and repainted the baseboard radiator covers and they replaced the air conditioning vents in the ceiling. After finishing the upstairs bathrooms they began work on the kitchen. They replaced about half of the subflooring, relocated the sink which required installing a new, smaller window, rerouting the plumbing and drains, rerouting some of the pipes for the baseboard hot water heat, installing a line for the ice maker in the new refrigerator, and reconfiguring the laundry room to accommodate an alcove for the refrigerator. The reconfiguration resulted in a new small pantry where they installed shelving. The installed new cabinets, appliances, tile flooring and a back splash in the kitchen. All the electrical outlets in the bathrooms and kitchen were brought up to code with GFI outlets. The kitchen work took about 6 to 7 weeks. During all the construction we had access to a refrigerator and our washer and dryer which made things a bit easier. They also gutted the powder room, installed new floor tile, a sink, toilet, new plumbing fixtures, and a new light. Gregg is a perfectionist. After he had installed the hardware on the kitchen cabinetry he came to us and said, "Do you believe to err is human?" " I messed up handles on two of the drawers. I've ordered new faceplates for the drawers and will do them right." The handles were probably off less than a quarter of an inch. We didn't even notice it until he pointed it out to us. They are very neat workers. The work site was cleaned up each night before they left. You can't avoid dust during renovations but they made every effort to keep it to a minimum. We felt very comfortable with them in our home. They were unobstrusive, and we had no problem going out to shop or run errands with them in the house. I would give the highest recommendation for to anyone who is considering remodeling in their home.
