I hired Riverfront Moving and Storage through Angi’s List for a same day move, after this company contacted me following the request I made through Angie’s list platform, I was quoted a flat rate of $213 per hour and paid a deposit of $259.38. The movers were scheduled to arrive at 2:30 PM. Instead, they arrived nearly six hours late at around 8:14 PM. Due to the delay, they stated they could not complete the job that evening and rescheduled for the next day. On August 31, the movers arrived late again and did not begin loading until around 2:45 PM. They also took an extended one-hour lunch during the job and did not complete loading until approximately 7:40 PM. After loading was complete, I met them at the storage facility. I was then told that unloading would not begin unless I paid the remaining balance immediately—in cash, under the table—with no invoice or itemized breakdown. I was shocked by this demand. When I requested a proper invoice, the movers refused and stated that unless I paid what they estimated to be around $1,800, they would not release my belongings, holding my property for ransom. I called the owner directly, and he also refused to provide any formal documentation, saying only, “That’s the price. I don’t have time for this, I’m at dinner with my family, I’ll see you in court,” before hanging up. The movers then drove off with all of my property still in the truck and without my permission. Following this, I made multiple attempts to contact the owner. He did not respond until September 23. During that call, I again requested a proper invoice and to arrange payment based on the originally agreed-upon hourly rate. He instead sent an invoice for $3,261.90, which included previously undisclosed storage fees and other unexplained charges. He also threatened to auction off my property if I did not pay the full amount. At no time was I informed that my belongings would be placed in storage or that any fees would accrue. Because I was denied access to my property for several weeks, I was forced to purchase an entirely new wardrobe for my daughter, who was beginning her first year of college. This created unnecessary financial hardship and emotional distress for both of us.

The crew arrived on time and finished ahead of schedule and under budget. They were careful in wrapping and moving the furniture. I would absolutely use the company again and recommend them to others.

I am very unhappy with the experience we had with this moving company. They were unable to deliver our furniture to our new home and took no ownership for it, instead we ended up paying them 4 times the amount that was quoted and they would not release our furniture until the money was paid, which was not the original contract that said the payment is accepted after the furniture is delivered. Instead of taking any kind of responsibility or showing any amount of empathy, they actually blamed us for the difficulty. The problem was easily remedied by getting a smaller truck to shuttle the furniture up the driveway, however instead of proposing this idea to us they made us waste 7 hours while they made us get $400 worth of sand and rent our own truck, all of which was a complete and expensive waste of time. We did end up renting our own truck and shuttling the furniture, which they could have proposed to us when they assessed the situation initially. Honestly, I feel this moving company scammed us and took complete advantage of us. I would seriously take this review into consideration before hiring them for the job.

The moving crew was great, on time, no scratched walls or damaged furniture. Highly recommended.

Due to closing being continuously postponed, we had to keep rescheduling with Riverfront, and every time we called they were able to fit us in. They were very understanding and upfront with costs. One less guy showed up than anticipated, and the job was still done in the anticipated time frame which made it much cheaper! The guys were really nice, and nothing was broken or damaged. Highly recommend

JR came to our home on a Saturday to give us a quote. We had one other at the time. He did a more in depth tour of our home and came in for 1/2 the price. We had 4 different locations the movers had to stop at, and was only charged for time not extra stops. The truck and 3 man team showed up on time and were very respectful of not only us (64 and 66 years old) but of our things. Khalil was in charge and they were fast and very careful. We ran into them at Wawa and bought them lunch. At the end of the day they all thanked me again for the lunch. There was no surprises over price it was exactly the price JR quoted. Over all I’m very glad we went with Riverfront Movers and would gladly refer them to anyone I know!

Excellent job done from start to finish. Easy communication with main office and good responsiveness, upfront reasonable pricing. Came with a 26ft truck and 4 man crew because we had extra furniture stored in the basement that needed moving.. turned out to be a life saver. Crew were efficient, experienced movers, handled everything with expertise and finished the job in good time. This was one of the better moving experiences Ive had in along time. Would definitely hire them again and recommend to anyone.

Excellent. The Riverfront Movers were timely, organized, cordial, and efficient. They moved our entire home without a single dent, scratch or broken item. How often have you moved without an indictment? These are top notch movers. If you want quality this is your packing and moving service.

RFM was quick to respond and offer an in-person quote, he (JR) came to view our apartment to get an accurate quote. He told me a lot of the pitfalls of moving companies, which was nice, especially about movers are specifically trained to waste time to increase the time it takes therefore, increasing your price. However after we booked the day we wanted it was near impossible to get in contact with them again. Phone mailboxes were constantly full, email upon email went unanswered. Finally got hold of them two days before move to confirm. They arrived 15 min late which was okay. They started to move us, and they wasted so much time, it was the most inefficient system of moving, caught them just sitting around multiple time for 10-15min a time. One asked to use our bathroom near the end of the packing up of truck (obviously I obliged) 20 minutes he took. So JR was definitely correct about movers being trained to waste time and he's trained his staff to do the same. They left without telling me. They stopped for lunch between pickup and drop off which we were charged for. Then came the drop off. The slid boxes down our basement cellar doors because they were too lazy to carry them, hence breaking a lot of boxes marked "FRAGILE". The took chunks of dry-wall out by banging furniture into our new walls. Caught them again wasting time upstairs after we didn't see them for 15 minutes, asked them what they were doing and they said they had to take the legs off a dresser to get it upstairs (only problem is those legs don't come off, so again time wasting). They broke the back of our dresser. We checked the truck as JR suggested. They forgot some of our stuff was hidden. I would never recommend these people or use them again.
