Mattress Showcase

We told them we needed a new mattress, but since learning the Warranty would not cover it completely, we had to purchase a complete set.  We told them the price we would pay, but needed payments.  This would not be an issue for them, they accepted layaway payments.  We looked at a few mattresses, but preferred a memory foam one.  They had one on sale, told us it was covered by the Manufacture, so we put money down as a deposit.  We made our payments on time and was expected to pick it up in January 2013, but was able to pay it off much sooner then expected in November 2012.  They were to deliver it, but the truck broke down, so we made arrangements to pick it up.  Was given a refund on the delivery cost.  Great!!!! No problem, until we contacted the Manufacture to register it for the warranty, but they would not warranty this mattress.  We called the store to find out why it wasn't covered, but no one answered.  Contacted our bank to find out what our recourse would be, was told we could try to get our money back from the store.  Tried to get a hold of someone there, finally asked about the warranty, was told it was under the Manufacture Warranty and asked why we called the Manufacture.  We are not the type of people that do not register our products we have bought with a warranty.  Just because people in our area would not do this, we do.  Our overall issue with this company was not a good one.  We still have the mattress, but would never use them again.  The mattress set we purchased is NOT covered, although we have a voice mail from the store owner saying otherwise.  We found out it was a "sample" unit when we unwrapped it that had not been taken off by the store, this is how we found out it was not covered.  I really hope that if we do need the warranty on this set this store will come through with its promise of warranty, although I doubt it highly.  I feel they lied to us, sold us a "floor model", not explaining to us everything.  This is poor judgement on our part.  If its too good to be true, run the other way, it probably is.  We were told by the store it had to be on a metal/wooden frame, but the tag on the mattress stated it did not require a frame/boxspring because it was a type of mattress that could be on a adjustable bed since it was flexible.  So their knowledge of their products has a lot to be desired.
