 + -1 moreEverything was done in an accurate fashion, it wasn't the most timely interaction we had but it was fine. When we presented them with competitive rates from other places they matched them. They also matched waived fees from competitor's, too. In the end we got a great rate from them.

Description of Work: I used Robin Bowman at Trident for my original home mortgage and a refinance. Robin is very patient and helpful. She is also very experienced and knowledgeable. In my original mortgage, Robin basically ran the entire closing on the purchase and sale, was very efficient, and organized. She also got me a very good rate on my mortgage. The refi, which took place in October 2009 was well-done except for the actual closing. Robin did everything up to the closing, but made sure I understood that someone else in her office would be doing the actual loan closing. The person Trident sent was the opposite of Robin: disorganized, not particularly knowledgeable. She almost screwed up the closing, but Robin had given me enough paperwork in advance that I was able to push the person to fix the errors and make it right. That was a little disappointing and annoying, but I would still work with Robin again. I would just make sure that she was the person seeing me through from start to finish. Again on the refi, Robin gave me a very good rate.

 + -1 moreTrident was really good. I will tell you, they even still send me Christmas cards and my mortgage recently switched over to another company. I was a first time home buyer. They caught several mistakes I had made because of my newness to buying a home. They had great communication and they know what they are doing over there.
Description of Work: Trident handled the mortgage arrangements during my settlement on my 3000 square foot home. I was charged a small fee for paperwork and processing.

 + -1 moreI felt Trident gave us a good deal, if not the rock-bottom lowest deal available (6.25 0 points). They were willing to negotiate on some of the lender fees in order to match a price I found elsewhere. I was extremely impressed by the responsiveness of the mortgage consultant, Robin Bowman. She was extremely quick to reply to all questions and generally very thorough. She also came to the closing, which many banks won't do. I was never concerned that they wouldn't be able to close the loan on time, or that they would drop the ball in some way. I was a bit disappointed to discover that unlike some lenders, Trident wouldn't let me elect to pay points before closing to buy the rate down; apparently I would have had to decide to do that when I locked my rate. Other than that, it was a totally problem-free transaction.
Description of Work: I got a 30 year mortgage for purchase of a new home.
