Description of Work: Keith is a stone mason. Our house has an attached garage that was converted to a room by the previous owner. The stone covering the area occupied by the garage door developed a long horizontal crack and the lower portion began to lean out. Keith removed the entire lower portion and found a totally insufficient footing below the lower portion. He created a steel rod reinforced footing and rebuilt the lower portion of the stone to blend in perfectly with the upper portion. Our ageed to price was on target and we are enjoying the efforts of his labors. We are no longer concerned about the lower portion collapsing and bringing down that entire section of the stone facing on the front of our house.

Description of Work: Keith Childs restored our walk in fireplace in our 200+ year old farm house. He installed a curved brick walkway for the front of our home. He installed two sets of large stone steps for the front and side door entry points of our home. He restored our basement walls and used proper lime based puddy mortar mix to plaster or basement walls. He re-built four chimneys and one of the chimneys has a corbeled beehive radius detail. He restored our living room plaster walls. He re-built or large stone spring house. He built a large stone dam for our pond and installed a large great looking stone for the water spillway. Keith restored and built a complicated period correct hood over our front door. keith framed and installed cedar shake roof for our spring house and used old world carpentry\framing skills. keith restored two other fire places in our home. keith is now at our home starting some exterior work. Keith is a wonderful person and is very talented at his trades. He is a master craftsman. We love having keith work on our home and would strongly recommend him.

+ 0 moreHe is always here and I like him a lot. He's done work for me for many years. He is here 3 to 4 times a year doing work. I live in an old farm house so I always have projects for him. He is the best and there is nothing that he does professionally that anybody can do better. I've for a lot of other projects for him and I would absolutely recommend him without a doubt. He is a good, hardworking and honest person.
Description of Work: I used Keith Childs Masonry contractor in my house. He is actually doing a project for me right now. There was an improper window in my house that the previous home owners did and we returned it back.

Description of Work: Re-pointing and capping an 1835 brick chimney. Set up scaffolding. Mixed time appropriate mortar. Fixed damaged cap stone.
