It went as smoothly and easily as the removal of a large underground tank could be. We chose J and J partly on the excellent reviews they had received on Angie's List, and our experience was similarly very positive. We fortunately have no other oil tanks to remove, but we do highly recommend them!

Excellent. The project manager Staci Cottone was great to work with keeping us informed and updated as to what was happening. Workers who dug hole and removed tank did so in a timely but careful manner. Staci took care of all the required paper work.

Staci Cottone was fabulous to work with (and who would have expected a woman in this field).  She came out promptly to assess the situation with the buried oil tank that had been discovered during the inspections. She sent me a proposal the very next day. We scheduled the work and it was completed on time and for less than originally proposed because the tank was slightly smaller and there was no contamination! They did everything, permits, one-call to have the utilities marked, epa analysis and reports and kept us in the know the whole time. Thanks for your professional and Disneylike service.

Prompt response to my initial phone call. Promptly submitted detailed job proposal. Always professional and courteous. Acquired necessary governmental permits. Removed old underground 300 gallon heating oil tank. Took and tested soil samples for residual oil spillage. Returned property to original condition. Created detailed lab report of tested soil. Final cost was even less than original estimate. We're totally responsive to my need for a timely removal of tank as a sale of the property was pending.

Bill Kunch was the contact person.  I was a bit concerned as I had a new driveway and was aware the large equipment could damage it.  J&J showed up on time and used heavy rubber mats where necessary to prevent any damage.  The team was pleasant and polite and clearly knew what they were doing.  After digging down to uncover the top of the tank, they cut a hole in it and sent someone in with a hand scrapper and suction hose to clean the tank inside.  After cleaning the tank was cut in 1/2 and positioned so the county inspector could be sure the job was done right..  when I came home later, the hole had been filled in and regraded.  they even replanted some small shrubs that had to be removed to reach the tank.
I am very pleased with the job they did and highly recommend them to other angie's list members.

They were the best bid out of three. Their estimate was simple and straight forward. They were very good. They came when they said they would and did exactly what they said they would do. They got the permits they needed for my town. They were respectful of my plantings and I was very happy with their services.

I was impressed by the skill of the equipment operator. Ryan was an artiste using the big shovel to remove a 1000 gallon heating oil tank. The ten foot by five foot tank was 2.5 feet from my front steps, 3 feet from the front foundation and under a low extended eave--I WAS NERVOUS. Afterward it looked like they weren't even there.  They even removed and replanted bushes!  Good work.
