Went great. Called late morning and they arrived within 30 minutes. Being that our house is from the 40's, I thought that there was going to be a huge underlying issue. Fixed our backed up pipe quickly. Great experience. Professional plumbers. Thanks!

They were great. They came out to the house for an estimate. Took measurements. After sending us a written we scheduled the work. They came in days. The work was completed in a day and they also took care of some issues we hadn’t discussed. The bill was exactly what the estimate was to the penny. No hidden chargers. A week later and the unit has been functioning perfectly. We couldn’t be happier. This was not the the first time we used John M Downs Plumbing and Heating and it certainly won’t be the last.

He overcharged and over-staffed this project. We paid for two guys to do the work and then John came "to inspect" their work. All three charged the same price per hour for their transportation time to and from the job (we live in Danville). This was not an emergency job - it took them 7 days to fit us in their schedule. I would NEVER get work from him again nor would I recommend him to anyone else.
Did I mention they ruined some of our ceramic tile in our bathroom in the process?

He has done good work at a fair price. I would recommend him to others.

John returned my call the same evening we contacted him. He came to move a well tank during remodeling on the day we needed him and at the time we agred upon. A few months later he came to replace the well pump, water treatment system. He "sanitized" the water lines and made sure everything was functioning properly. I called a few months after installation with a question about the water treament system. He returned my call the same day. He offered to come to the house to answer my question.

I would absolutely not recommend this company to anyone. After they replaced a foot valve and clamps in my well, I was told I needed additional work done.  Fred referred me to another contractor, which I was unable to reach.  I still had trouble with my well, and had to hire other contactors.  The problem was finally fixed.  The price I paid to John M Downs was way too high, and other people who saw my bill could not believe the price.
