Professionalism was superior. Quality and timely manner of the work preformed surpassed my harsh expectations. The owner provided me with an understanding and step by step game plan of every phase of the project at hand. He gave me multiple options to fit my personal needs. Great listener and outstanding "FINISHER"   the name holds true. The Best experience I had with a contractor since the RENO began. No need to call any other company. Can complete any task in stride no complications. Will NOT call any other construction service company in the area.

Wonderful! Damon Allen, who owns the business, performed the work and oversaw 2 others. The work was completed within the anticipated time frame, the outcome was beautiful, no hidden costs/supplies, and my home was left in impeccable order. Mr. Damon kept me abreast of the progress on a daily basis, is very professional and friendly. I recommend this company to anyone who needs inside/outside home construction. I hope Finishers will be doing more work on my home in the future as we have discussed.

I wanted steps 6 inches in height done in Trex material. He did the steps, some were 6 inches high,  there was 1 that was 8 inches high and 1 was 3 inches high. Before he continued we made him rip them out and start over.  Instead of using tongue and groove Trex for the steps, he used regular Trex and then he screwed in the Trex and now I have nail holes in my new steps.  He's not a carpenter or a contractor, he a rough carpenter and the work he does should be behind sheet rocked walls not out in the open for everyone to see.  He nailed in the middle railing splitting the railing and leaving the nails exposed.  I have taken pictures to prove this and had to hire another person to repair the work he ruined.   He installed 2 doors and new frames on the side of the house and chipped the new woodwork  and installed it that way.  You know the saying , you get what you pay for,  well we did get what we paid for, an incompetent carpenter.  Please, everyone,  do not use this company.

I spoke with him on Friday and he wanted me to commit to him but I was not ready to do so. I spoke with him on Saturday and he said he would start on Monday but didn't even end up showing up until 5pm. He came back out on Tuesday, he worked for eight hours and the little work that was done, was such a poor job that we had to re-do it. My son had to come and go from work several times to accommodate the service providers lack of communications and responsibility.

Despite a more difficult job than originally planned for, everything went well.  The finished product looked great except for some dirt left behind by the workers.

We were presented with a challenging and unique project that needed just the right fit. In general it was a man cave basement (including small bath, kitchenette) refurb, with some interesting challenges.
My only regret is not calling Finishers sooner. I wasted a lot of time getting bids/opinions from at least a half-dozen contractors before going with Finishers. This was helpful in a sense because I learned a lot, and learned about a number of approaches. But it also would have been good to get Damon in early. Ultimately we decided to go with Damon's crew because a) we had worked with them before*, and b) they could start almost immediately. Many other contractors said it would be weeks before they could start, or that they would make us their rainy day project. I did not want that. I also had some folks that were wishy washy on how they'd approach things, or what the numbers would be. Damon was very direct and realistic about everything.
*(This was actually the second time we used Finishers for a project. About two years ago, Finishers redid the walls in our old dining room at our previous home. For that job, they did demolition, sheetrock, primer and painting.)
Why didn't I call them first? Part of it was just thinking of them as only painters or wall construction. But they do a lot more. So that is lesson learned number #1 - call early.
Prior to Finishers coming in, our plumber removed some baseboard heating, we installed a sump pump, and my regular electrician did some preliminary work. We did most of our own demolition, removing sheet rock and exposing walls down to block. This necessitated changing the outline of the ceiling in one place, and pulling other parts of the ceiling down. It would be Finisher's job to put everything back together and get the space livable again.
Finishers prepped our basement walls and framed out new walls, and almost everything paint ready by the end of the first week. The important walls - where baseboard heating would be put back by our plumber -  were done, and we met our deadline to coordinate with the plumber. However, a couple of the other areas needed some touch-up before they could be painted. We ended up doing a bit more sanding ourselves than I would have liked.  My wife doesn't mind painting, but she has asthma and tends to take on a bit more than she can manage sometimes. On top of this, we both came down with sinus colds the week the remainder of the painting was to be completed (by us). So we had some extra delays there. The baseboard heating went back (by the plumber - separate company) but we actually need to take the bathroom sink back out to paint properly. That will be this weekend's project.
The lesson here is simple: let Finishers do everything, especially the painting. They take much more pride in it than the average home owner would, and they know the ropes. I kind of feel bad that our paint job doesn't live up to what they would have done. I am very picky about electrical work, and have used only Long Electric for a number of years now. But Finishers noted the electrical plans and said they could do that as well. This saved me from having to coordinate with my electrician.  In terms of plumbing, we already had that farmed out, but Damon was willing to work that in if needed. I think going with our main plumber was the right thing to do considering our timeline and complexity, but Finishers will likely be helping with some smaller projects.
Overall this was a very complex project with many twists and turns, and added frustrations that had nothing to do with contractors or the work itself. Finishers responded well to the challenges, my own quirks, and kept me informed every step of the way. They care about quality of work. Pricing was reasonable, the crew was respectable and I am glad to have them as part of our team. They are going to come back for some other work soon. The ceiling turned out to be more than we could handle, and it will be a separate job. I would recommend them to anyone.

We gave them a full list of what we needed done and they left out a lot of stuff and charged us for everything. From the first day they showed up, they were late.  

He was very nice and very professional.  He obviously had the qualifications.  He was just extremely expensive.

This is a great group. Will use them for ALL my future building needs!!!

there was a problem with the door fram of the building for the exterior door , that were handled, with a smile and a knolage of building constructionthat made me very comfortable with him and his crew. small extras, that came up during all this were taken care of, as the work went on, no delays, I am very pleased with this contractor, and his crew, they went out of there way to be sure that they were performin the work ot my satification.

It went great and we were very happy with the finished projects.
